A Christmas Carol (2009)

Has anyone been following this movie? I think I've seen just about every version of this movie out there - timeless classic that I will never tire of - so naturally looking forward to this when it comes out during the holiday season! Disney's already pulling out all the stops - they screened some footage at Cannes, with fake snow and all. The poster for the movie's floating around now - kinda gives me chills...in a good way!

I just saw the trailer in 3D and it looks pretty freakin cool! I'm also fan of the story so I'll pretty much watch any version that they've got out there. Have you gone to the train tour yet? That seems pretty cool too...doesn't hit my town til October but I've been reading everywhere about it.

I will reserve comment until I see more of the film. If Disney, good chance it will be good.

I can't wait for this to hit threaters. With Jim Carrey and Disney it should be a great movie!

Yeah, I'm a big Jim Carrey fan - I think he's a pretty awesome comedian but also really good at dramatic roles too (like Eternal Sunshine and Truman Show). I think he does a little bit of both in this...like, I was a little scared but then I also laughed out loud when I saw the trailer so - it should be good!

Same - it's my favorite Christmas story, I think. The trailer is online now:
Disney's a Christmas Carol Trailer Is Here!

I like that it's equal parts spooky and funny.

The movie comes out in 2 weeks - anybody else getting excited? The train tour was pretty awesome and it had some really cool footage from the movie.

Oh, and I saw this on their facebook app and thought it was a fun way to celebrate Halloween & Christmas - lol.

Where do you live?? It WAS a pretty cool promotion - sorry you missed it But at least you can still watch the movie

I wish I were in London - for the premiere, Jim Carrey, Colin Firth & Bob Hoskins (he was in Who Framed Roger Rabbit) are going to switch on the Christmas lights in different parts of the city at the same time. And they're also going to try to break the world record for largest Christmas Carol singalong. Haha, sounds like fun and good way to start off the holiday season!

I want to see this. Do you think my 4 year old would be scared by it?

Well, since it IS Disney, and their movies tend to lean toward the side of the family...on the other hand, it is a pretty faithful adaptation of the book, which is both a dark AND funny at times. I think the trailer is a pretty good indication of how it will be....The kids that were in the theater seemed to be okay for the most part, they might have been older, though, so I guess I would see what your 4-year old thinks of the trailer.....
