If he remembers their other life like everyone believes. He asked for the name of Snow's child way back in the... first(?) episode, so he knows the child's name is Emma.. then an Emma shows up and the clock starts moving again. He seems the type who could put two and two together.
Great point, Niz! I had forgotten that he had asked for the name. For all his craziness, he strikes me as being very smart. Or should I say clever and crafty? I know what you mean about liking 'the bad guy', since Ive become a fan of Regina, the evil witch! =O Which is funny since I dont want her to win in the end and of course Im rooting for Snow and Prince. And Emma. ;-) But I am so impressed with the acting. Thats the great thing about this show, they have a wonderful cast. Back to the curse though, it seems to me to be that Mr. Gold is actually the one orchestrating everything, though Regina believes herself to be the one in control. I could be wrong, but thats how Im perceiving it at the moment.

Im all caught up. Very excited about what happens next. I had read the summery of the last epi thats aired, The Shepherd, and I got so caught up in what was going on that I completely forgot that someone was supposed to die! So, although I shouldnt have been, I was surprised that Gram died. And it was such a great scene between him and Emma. I think her guard will be up now more then ever. And poor Henry finally had some one who really believed him and now hes no more. How frustrating! I wonder what Emma will make of all this. Hes talking about how he doesnt have a heart and then he dies from a heart attack, or something along those lines. I think Regina will be more hostile then ever now. I liked the furthering of her and Snows story, how we see she was the step daughter. A princess. I wonder what she did to the queen to make her hate her so much. Was it just because the father loved Snow more? Im guess that is part of the reason, but not the real reason. And Prince Charming! How sad for Mary, turning her away like that. It was much too soon for them to be together though. That needs to happen way in the future IMO. I liked how Regina directed him to Mr. Gold on purpose, knowing he would somehow fix 'the problem'. And boy did he ever. The windmill triggered a memory from his past, or I think a feeling from his past is more a accurate word. The honorable thing to do, to be with Katheryn. Its his duty. And a false memory to go with it. Im curious to see where that goes and how long that will last. Great show, Im greatly anticipating the next episode! =D

So we finally got to see last night why Rumple is the way he is. He wasnt always 'the bad guy', but the dark power made him that way. And he did it to save his son. We'll, kind of. He was tricked into becoming the dark one, really. He just wanted to be able to control the dark one. So the 'begger' tricks Rumble into 'stealing' the dagger, then tricks him into killing him, thus freeing the beggar from the evil force and transferring it to Rumble. Gee, what a nice guy. Not! I wonder what happened to his kid (Rumples)? I think maybe he wanted nothing to do with his father anymore, since he wasnt the same person. How sad! And its why Rumple always says magic comes with a price. His price was becoming evil. So Rumble is eventually captured (In Cinderellas episode) and imprisoned. He was able to be freed by coming to the modern world. Now whats his game? It seems that what ever it is, its pretty risky. Shouldn't he want to get rid of Emma? After all, he has power in Storybrooke, but hes in a dungeon in the other world. It would seem he'd want Emma gone, but it obvious that not everything is as it seems. Theres definitely something more going on.
But now Rumple has Emma as sheriff and hes got definite plans for her. And a favor owed. Oh boy oh boy. And what does Regina want? I mean, is she really happier in the modern world, with keeping everyone apart? Doesnt really seem so. Seems shes more limited in this world then the other. Curious to see whats up with her.

I feel like his son was already leaning away from his father, even before Rumpel got his powers. And before Rumpel tried to run away. (and before he learned Rumpel has run before) It seemed like the kid was accepting of the news that the age was lowered again, and so he would have to stand and fight. It was his father that was so hell bent on not seeing that happen. Everything that happened after was just adding to it all.

I dunno about you, but I get the feeling Mr. Gold is enjoying the game as it's being played. If he does, in fact, remember that he was imprisoned in the other world, it's not swaying him to change the game in any way. He's having fun.

The show is moving little too slowly for my liking. Below my expectations, especially keeping in mind the team behind.

Yes he most definitely is having fun. And he doesnt seem to mind changing the course of things at least in the modern world.

I didnt care too much for the last episode but that is really because I watch mainly for Snow/Charming and Emma. Everything else is just extra for me; so Hansel and Gretal was a so-so epi IMO. I think they really should focus more on Mary and David and Regina etc. All the main characters are who I tune in for each week.
Besides how I personally felt (my coma button is jammed Grr) this episode introduced a new player at the very end which peeked my curiosity. Which was meant to Im sure. I cant even begin to think of who it could possibly be.

loved the blind witch. would have liked her to have more screen time. and perhaps a real world counter part (child services perhaps) but oh well. she was still fantastic while on screen.

and woohoo Eion Bailey is finally on the show. looking forward to seeing more of this "handsome stranger" in next week episode

This episode. Loved it. I think the evil queen is growing on me. Hansel... Hansel is an idiot. "Whatever you do, don't eat anything." So the first thing he does is scoop a dollop off the house with his finger? And then OH, hey, a cupcake. Ugh. Gretel should have just made him stay far far away.

And OMG, loved seeing Ben Mercer* (character name from Covert Affairs) showed up at the end. A straaaanger. Dun dun DUNNNNNN.

*I was actually watching the movie Center Stage the other night with friends, a movie I've seen a gazillion and nine times, and it wasn't til the very end that I recognized he was in that movie too! It made me giggle.

I think Mr. Gold (Love him!) has his own agenda in all of this. I think at the end we should see a show-down of him and the 'wicked queen.'

I think that would be AWESOME! For all his wickedness,, Id have to root for him over her (even though I enjoy Regina so much)! I agree about his own agenda btw.
