New miss America reality show

I caught a glimpse of this preview for a new reality show that's coming out that will follow around the Miss America girls. We'll be able to watch them compete in challenges and answer questions, etc., all leading up to the live pageant on Jan 24th. Anyone hear about this?

Yup. I don't know why I know about this show but I too saw a long drawn out preview. It looked....

My initial responses are:

that show is still on after all these years, even after feminism & losing primetime major network interest & losing fun hosts & having broken EVERY boundary with winners of every nationality (except Asian American, I think

) & even with disabilities (remember that cool Deaf winner who danced ballet for her talent competition?)

ANYWAY....if I want to watch a REALITY SHOW/COMPETITION, I'll watch Survivor, Top Chef, Iron Chef, Project Runway, etc. But a beauty pageant that used to be held sacred by American society, well, I think the franchise needs to just let it go already, STOP televising the thing and just do the show like a special convention in Las Vegas. I know some people live & breathe for beauty pageants but I think those things are pretty archaic no matter what corny desperate stunt the producers try. I actually feel sorry for those girls. So I guess I won't be watching.
