Sarah Michelle Gellar / Bridget Kelly Appreciation Thread #1
 In The CW's new drama, "Ringer," Sarah Michelle Gellar plays a double role, starring as beautiful twin sisters Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin. Bridget is six months sober and has been trying to turn her life around, only to become the key witness in a murder trial. Siobhan lives what appears to be a fairy tale life - a life where no one knows that Bridget exists ― living in New York and married to the wealthy, handsome Andrew Martin (Ioan Gruffudd). It all changes when Siobhan mysteriously disappears and Bridget makes the split decision to take on her sister's identity. Gellar also serves as a co-executive producer on the show. Gellar is best known for her iconic role as Buffy Summers in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." She wrapped her seventh and final season of the critically acclaimed drama in May of 2003. Gellar also originated the role of Kendall Hart on ABC's daytime soap opera "All My Children," which earned her a Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. Gellar's acting career has included several notable film roles including "Cruel Intentions," "Scream 2," "I Know What You Did Last Summer" opposite husband Freddie Prinze, Jr. and the blockbuster hit "The Grudge." No stranger to the world of voice over, Gellar has lent her voice in Liongate's "Happily N'Ever After," opposite Sigourney Weaver and Freddie Prinze, Jr, and can be heard as the voice of April O'Neil in Warner Brothers' "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."  Sarah Michelle Gellar on Insecurity, Kate Middleton, and Getting Inspired. The CW star dishes to Health about feeling insecure, her thoughts on Kate and Pippa Middleton, and the secret to her marriage to Freddie Prinze, Jr., in the October 2011 issue, hitting newsstands Friday September 23. On female insecurity: “I totally have body dysmorphic disorder. I think most women do…I just have to remember that I’m human, and I’m a mom. Being a parent changes the vanity at least a little bit.” On the fascination over Kate Middleton’s weight: “It seems like people are worried that she’s stressed. I feel like 10 years ago, it would have been like, ‘Oh, she looks incredible.’ Whereas you look at her sister, who has such a fabulously athletic body…and I think there’s this movement now, where more women, finally, want to look like that.” On using a photo of a famous woman’s body for inspiration: “I would never do that to myself, especially because I’m aware of the airbrushing and trainers and food programs. You have to use yourself as inspiration.” On keeping fit during pregnancy: “Well, I went into labor at the Pilates gym. I was getting cranky…it turned out I was in labor, I didn’t realize.” On growing up in New York City: “I think, automatically, you look at the world differently if you’re from a big city. You’re never bored, you don’t stay home, you’re always on your feet. I think it generates type A personalities.” On her successful marriage of nine years to Freddie Prinze, Jr.: “We communicate. That’s my secret. It’s not a secret, but it’s how I handle all my good relationships, whether they’re male-female [or not]. If you bottle things up, it explodes on you.” On how she avoids getting too stressed out: “I’m not saving the world. I have to remember that I like my job, but it’s work, and it’s not my life. Bridget Kelly is actually the character she plays. I found numerous sites that have her last name as Cafferty, but in the episodes and on the CW website it lists her last name as Kelly. I wonder how all the other websites have yet to pick up on that.
Bridget's role is definitely the role I am used to seeing Sarah Michelle play. Bridget's backstory is quite interesting, and I think we will learn so much more about it as we go along throughout the episodes. Of course we know that she ran from her hometown because she was set to testify against a murderer, but there's much more to her than that. Bridget had a troubled past with drugs and alcohol, but just what was it involving the little boy in the picture that tore her and her sister ultimately apart? I am thinking maybe it was an accidental death while Bridget was intoxicated, or while the little boy was under the care of Bridget, but time will tell. Bridget's ties to Malcom is ultimately what is messing her undercover role up with the detective, but what is she going to do now that he needs her more than ever. Surely she will worry when he stops returning calls and texts, and I have a feeling the one man she was afraid to testify against will be the one to pick up the other end of the phone at some point. One thing is for sure, it has to be hard for Bridget, living in a house with Juliet [a drug addict], when she is only six months sober herself. Thankfully, the whole pregnancy surprise offers her an excuse to pass up the alcohol as well, so this might just be a healthy environment for her if only for that cause. I wonder though, obviously she doesn't know her sister is still alive and trying to kill her, but is that the only reason people are after her? Or maybe is there others that were after Siobhan [and not just the ones who I think so far know that it is Bridget and is taking orders from Siobhan]. If it isn't just her marriage and affair and twisted life, what else might her sister have been caught up in? Bridget has righted so many wrongs that her sister has done already. She is repairing the marriage, bonding with Juliet, letting it be known that the relationship with Henry is wrong....It's just a shame that her character spilled so soon to Gemma that she in fact was not Siobhan. I was just getting into her playing the role of her sister...don't tell me it has ended already. If everyone around her knows that she is Bridget, we won't be able to see the great storyline of changing a life play out as we have thus far.

The other websites like me probably got it from the same Press Release from the Network/Production Company. I guess somewhere along the line they changed things. I noticed that when the episodes aired, but it slipped my mind to come here and change them.

Bridget is just drowning at this point.
Not only does she probably now feel guilty for Gemma's death [as she most likely thinks Henry had something to do with it], she is also dealing with patching up a long history of what Juliet calls betrayal by being with Andrew while he was still legally married to his now ex-wife. The stress has to be getting to her, but I'm glas she threw those pills down the sink and got a hold of herself or else we'd be seeing her and Juliet bonding on a whole different level. Do I think she is going to relapse? Eventually I think we will see a slip-up. And considering she is getting no call-backs from Malcolm [who she has no idea is in the hands of the man she fears the most], it's only going to make matters worse. Now that Gemma is M.I.A., who is she going to vent to? Oh, this new stranger wannabe sponsor...who seems a bit shady in my opinion. It seems more like her N.A. meetings are in choice words becoming more about her living a lie in this hidden act, but they say you only fight off the smaller dragon to face the bigger one [bigger one in this series being the whole sister act], so kudos to her for kicking the addiction, but I can't help to feel bad for the girl. She must be dying for at least a glass of champagne [though the whole pregnancy factor exits that release out completely...for now at least]. I'm guessing she wished she would have just stayed in the hotel and testified at this point. Her sister's life seems to keep spinning and spinning this huge web and she's trapped right in the middle of it all. And also, Agent Machado now knows that "Siobhan" [but really Bridget], has been contacting Malcolm, her sponsor. How is she going to explain that one?

Oy-vey Bridget! I so would have either put a gun to my head or hung myself by now.
The new sponsor, don't trust em! It will only come back to bite you in the ass. Maybe write a journal entry and burn it immediately. Or Hope for a coma and you wake up and remember nothing. Poor Bridget! |

Sarah Michelle Gellar's adorable mini-me daughter Charlotte mugged for cameras as she and her former Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress headed to a children's gym in L.A. on Wednesday, Apr. 17, wearing matching high-tops. Gellar's 3-year-old daughter, with husband of 10 years Freddie Prinze Jr., looked excited as she held on tight to the actress' hand and skipped through the parking lot in a flowered skirt, T-shirt and black leggings. The former Ringer star, 35, looked similarly happy to be out and about with her daughter, dressed down in a sleek grey jacket, loose top and skinny jeans. The actress and Prinze Jr., 37, are also parents to son Rocky, 7 months. Us Weekly exclusively revealed the baby's unique moniker in November. Joss Whedon and Sarah Michelle Gellar return to TV at the same time? It must be fate!
