I don't post here often (can you tell?) but I came across this article today. Is it allowed here?

Lauren Graham Vows to Keep 'Gilmore Girls' Going Strong in Wake of Creator's Departure

Quote:
So she wound up finding out the news about her bosses from me (we'd had a previously scheduled telephone interview about her annual shafting at Emmy Awards time).

"I really can't quite believe this is going to happen," Graham said. "It would be a new world obviously without Amy. She's such a singular voice. I feel like I'm playing her half the time on the show. But if we're renewed, we'll keep making 'Gimore Girls.' And I have to say that I personally will feel a greater responsibility to maintain the quality and the authentic tone that our fans have come to count on.

"It really goes without saying that I'd be sad to see Amy and Dan go. Amy's a great writer and she's written really well for me in particular. But I'd still like to come back if they'll have us. It would sure be interesting to see how things turned out under a new regime."

I don't believe he was responsible for the season's story arcs and his episode which aired this season was good.

ETA:
TVGuide summary for 6.22
Quote:
In the sixth-season finale, Lorelai tries to avoid Luke and ends up pouring her heart out to a psychologist (Melora Hardin) who was invited to dinner at her parents' house. Elsewhere, Rory tries to avoid the Huntzbergers, particularly Mitchum, as she attends Logan's graduation and prepares for his inevitable departure; and Taylor's bothered by an influx of troubadours to Stars Hollow. Mary Lynn Rajskub, Sam Phillips, Grant Lee Phillips, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Sparks and Joe Pernice appear.

No problem, Gemini8525! Thanks! I just came across it and I had to post it to give back to all of you who entertain me with your spoilers and articles

Um, does anyone else think that Emily is trying to set up Chris with a psychologist may be a way to help out with G.G.? Maybe Luke needs to visit a psychologist too...

I'm not. He was not the showrunner this season. He had to follow ASP's lead. Next season he can do it his way.

IA with Sara. ASP was the showrunner and has a reputation for ruling with an iron fist.

Wow. Lauren Graham heard it from that reporter and I heard it from you. Thanks. That's sad because Amy Sherman Palladino is funny and she really made the show but it will go on and will hopefully be just as good if not somehow BETTER. (and her husband is leaving too. The dynamic duo is gone)

is there no more breaks for gg? is it just going to be new episodes each week until the finale...so that'd mean only 2 right?

There are three more episodes to go, all without any breaks. Here is the schedule, courtesy of our own Luis.

Captain Hawkeye is on a distinguished road
Thanks Tobie & wej

I agree with those who point out that DSR was an employee this year--not the shot-caller. People can be very different as boss than as employee, after Benedict XVI has borne little resemblence to "God's Rotweiller."

So are we still blaming Luke when Lorelai is STILL trying to avoid him in the final, then dumps this crap on him, "tearful ultimatum" I'm SMAD at Lorelai right now!

HE'S responsible? Of all the people who work on that show, he's responsible? How's that? There's Amy and Dan, who are *in charge," there's a writing team, there are directors, and actors who have been there since day one and probably have their own two cents to throw in. I can't understand how the newest kid on the block can be blamed, if there is blame to be borne. Putting on a television show is a collaborative effort. It's not like writing a book.

In the TVGuide Podcast Ausiello says that he thinks that R/L are on "pretty good terms" at the end of teh season. He says that he has a spoiler but wouldn't give it.
