I read that Ryan told someone at Berkley last episode that Marissa was a big part of his life and he could never leave her behind? If that's true it could be Josh foreshadowing. Which could tie in with what carmelfrappy said below.

my thought on this may be the fact that she wasn't actually goin to go to college @ all, because at this point she seems so lost. but possibly this means that something/someone will radically make her decide otherwise.

Last episode??? No, didn't happen. He said something in those lines to the guy from Berkeley in 308. But that was a long time ago. Things are obviously very different now.

Sorry the poster must have been watching a different show because they wrote that Ryan said those words to a student called Paul at Berkley in 322!

Paul was the guy from Berkeley who was on 308. Many things may be considered foreshadowing. I mean, "My future is with you". What was that? So many things were said during the first two thirds of the season, that if they mean nothing now, then what was the purpose?

Thanks boy that person got it wrong. The funny thing is that other posters have replied but noone has corrected them.

I would like to think that all those things have a purpose and we'll find out what in 324 and 325. I can't see the point of having them make those comments to each other for nothing. It would have been easier for them to have been left out completely. Where's the consistency?

Gioiettina - all I remember is Josh saying there might be a wedding. I took it to mean Julie/Dr Roberts or Julie/Jimmy where there almost was a wedding.

i have decided for my own sanity that because i am a huge r/m fan that when the credit rolls for the last eps ever of the oc and ryan and marissa arent together and happy then spoons will come flying over the sea! until then i will try to enjoy the ride! and maybe it is that ryan and marissa have to find themselves and their places in life before they can deal with anything about their relationship!
but i agree impik, little time left and chances are big the fab 4 are ending u in different places next year! but the fab 5 quote gives me some hope actually! and josh did say they were going to approach the post high school in a different and surprising way so i doubt we will see the college years to a bigger extent! and i think the cast wants to portrate a bit older characters! i think this will be good and if mischa, god forbide, is leaving as long as she doesent die r/m WILL end up together!

If he again gives them a bad finale, then it's just repeating the same thing over again. Also I believe that Theresa is not in the season finale. Navi is not a guest star. So who knows? Plus we did hear rumours of an engagement/marriage...
4.) Go to another university...But why would she not go to Berkley? It could be...I doubt it, though...
5.) It is possible that Ryan asks Marissa to move in with him at Berkley...That could be a huge step in their relationship. LOL...I mean he asked Sadie who he didn't even know more than five minutes to live with him...So it would not surprise me if RM ended up moving in together. It's very possible. They have been together on and off for three years. That's a long time. So I say this is the most likely...It was also suggested by another poster.

Anyway, I don't know what to think. Every option seems unlikely. I want RM wedding, but Josh would never make RM fans that happy...it's not his style!

Also did I remember someone saying that Mischa said in the interview that she was going to do a movie, then begin filming season four of The O.C...Can that person post the interview from Cosmo? I'd love to read it. Cuz too many annoying Mischa might leave rumours...And she is doing a movie right now in the UK and Canada. So it looks like Cosmo could be a very reliable source. I just wish we could find that interview to confirm everything.

Also the fab five is a big hint, too. How else could there be a fab five if one or more persons leave the show?

God I would love the R/M proposal at the end, that woul;d just rock my world and it would be a shocker, because no-one is really expecting it, everyone is saying that it's too soon, they're not ready for it as they are hardly even talking, but how do we know that Ryan decides that Marissa is the one for him, despite everything and then proposes. Well a girl can dream!!!!! I don't think it is that, I think that it maybe be that she goes off with Volchok (god forbid), she goes to Hawaii with Jimmy, or she gets a modelling contract or something, who knows. I hope that she doesn't leave.

I also think that the surprise that Dawn brings with her will be Trey or Ryan's father, as it said that unresolved issues will be resurfacing and the issues for Ryan are Marissa, Trey, his father. We saw in the Dawn Patrol, that his mother had cleaned up her act and had got her life together and Ryan saw and seemed happy with it, so what is the reason for that in the finale? Anyway is just my opinion.......

I can't believe that Summer will go off to uni and no-one will be going with her, how would that work out for the new season? Unless the sides are true, her mum does meet her dad and her mum decides to saty in Newport, then Summer wouldn't go, would she? She's go to college somewhere nearer maybe?

God there is so much speculation at the moment, it is mindblowing, if the descriptions are true, it seems that Sandy doesn't have a heart attack so the sides look like foilers for ep 25. But Ausiello said that Eddie may be back, so unless it was just cited from the sides and hasn't been confirmed by Fox?......Is this true? I hope not, what a waste of airtime!!!!!

i think that all of these things did in fact serve a purpose for foreshadowing. and then we could also look @ the oc mix 5 cd booklet as bein a foreshadower of what is to come. because they both foreshadowed the return of jess and anna in the yearbook thingy. also in the yearbook thingy both S/S and R/M are together. not only that marissa's message said something along the lines of i'm glad we have gotten back together. my bet would be that josh had it planned out from the beginning. hes just sittn back enjoyn everyone squirm. if josh wants to keep what happens secret, he does a pretty good job, because no one had any idea if that baby was ryans or not or if it still might be his for that matter.

If Marissa planned to go to Berkley I don't think she will change her plans for a wedding proposal (Ryan or Volex). Many students are married and they go to the college. I don't think Marissa will marry Volex or Ryan. Maybe Ryan in the future.

whoa ryan certainly does have a lot to deal w/ if he wants to start college afresh. im hoping he's jus dealn w/ the baby and theresa in 3.23 & 3.24, which leaves the season finale open for him resolving his issues w/trey,his mom, and marissa.

Ryna's mom is not an issue anymore, i think. They gave it a nice closure in 321. She's doing well now, they've accepted her place in his life. It's the baby, Trey and Marissa that needs to be resolved, and with the extra problems of the Cohens, i just can't see how they'll have the time to deal with all that.
