I expect next season to be a lot ..... happier? Is that fair? This past season was such a huge downer, I mean, in the plots that happened. I suppose, if we freeze, we can conclude there were huge downers from every season, but possibly these just standout because we are dealing with "the one" for each Gilmore Girl:
-the Rory/Logan on/off -the Lorelai/Rory rift -the dwindling of the favorite twosome Lorelai/Luke To back up my, "Luke is the perfect one for Lorelai" debate, I have been watching S3, and paying attention to each little word. As can be remembered, this was the season directly after Chris went to be with Sherry. In the first couple of episodes, we see her get over it. To me, it just seemed like she coveted Sherry's "package" deal, as we hear her Mimi it up with Luke. It wasn't about specifically wanting CHRISTOPHER, it was about wanting the family unit, it's been important to her to have that ... that binding thing, even though her family wasn't as strong when she was younger, perhaps she treasures it even more, perhaps if things were different she would have taken that sorta thing for granted, and instead now it is STRESSED. The last episode I watched was, "They Shoot Gilmores Don't They?" We see the Dance Marthan... and the CUTEST scene as Lorelai gets Luke to fix her heel. Maybe just because I'm a shipper, but as the camera goes onto Dean/Rory, it shows Lorelai's lingering stare at Luke... Before he reassured her of her "one." She often talks to Luke about her finding the right ONE. It'd be cool if Sherry came back. I assume they couldn't get her back, or maybe they did write her out.... BUT, I still think it'd be cool to cause this drama for Chris. HOWEVER, I would like it directly after Lorelai gives Christopher the heave ho. Everyone can say back in S2, that they were gonna get married, and live happily ever after--- but that Sherry ruined it. IMO, that's still up for interpretation totally, and I won't believe it'd really work out until it really works out. *drools just a bit* Does anyone think SP was extra hot S3? : ) |

i agree with you too. to add: i think possibly rory has grown up a lot as well. most people aren't really with "the one" when they're 16-20ish and so rory has entered this part of her life where shes ready for a big commitment. as well as logan. they both have each other at the best time possible. [i hate when i analyze a TV show, i keep telling myself its not REAL!!]

Just got a txt message from my sister who is in NYC with her boss for upfronts.
Cocktails tonight revealed that CW is picking up OTH for 13 episodes, Gilmore Girls 13 episodes and will re-visit a full season pick up after they start the new season 7th Heaven 13 episodes only to launch a new program to go with it. VM, Supernatural got a full season pick up. Reminder that I was told back in Feb 06 that GG was only getting 13 episodes next season and it appears that is what is happening |
