As the ever-so-cute and charming Seth Cohen on "The O.C." (FOX, 2003 - ), Adam Brody claims to be just as goofy and delightful off-camera as he is while in character. His lighthearted comic approach to the tumultuous years of high school is a breath of fresh air and has already boosted Brody’s visibility and popularity in Hollywood after only one season.

Though new to the set of "The O.C.," Brody didn’t grow up too far from the sun and sand as a San Diego native who started surfing and skateboarding early on. Upon graduating Scripps Ranch High School, Adam attended MiraCosta College Oceanside, where he developed a keen interest for acting, and left college courses behind in pursuit of a prosperous career in film and TV. With his newfound ambitions, Adam jumped at every opportunity to enhance his talents by hiring an acting coach and signing with a personal manager. After taking up small roles in commercials and soaps, Brody finally landed his first lead in the NBC movie-of-the-week, "Growing Up Brady" (NBC, 2000), which chronicled the behind-the-scenes antics of America’s favorite TV family and depicted the life of original cast member Barry Williams (Greg Brady). This huge break soon led to recurring guest spots on mainstream shows such as "Gilmore Girls" (WB, 2000) and "Grounded for Life" (WB, 2001).

Unlike many newcomers to Hollywood, Brody never seemed short of work. While gaining more exposure through small roles on TV, Adam was able to take his career to the big screen as he landed minor parts in the hugely successful teen comedy "American Pie" (2001) and the 2002 spine-chilling thriller, "The Ring". Brody was later cast for a supporting role in the 2003 skateboarding comedy "Grind," where he played Dustin, a goal-oriented workaholic. Finding his niche as an actor with a more comedic flare, Brody’s boyish good looks and sweet charm were perfect for the part of witty Seth Cohen on "The O.C.," and it didn’t take long for a huge fan-base to follow. Female viewers fell in love with his adorable personality and male fans liked him for his realistic portrayal of a regular guy in high school. His magnetism rubbed off on fellow cast member, Rachel Bilson (Summer), who also plays his on-screen love interest as well as his frequent off-screen companion.

Brody's star was soon on his rise to stardom not only on primetime TV, but also in film. Working alongside Hollywood A-listers Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Brody snatched a small role in the action-thriller "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" (2005), where he appeared beside his longtime role model, Vince Vaughn. Brody played the mutual target of Pitt and Jolie—husband and wife assassins living under the guise of a ho-hum suburban life that masks the truth even from themselves.
