Will 'Supernatural' Creator's New Deal Lead to a Spin-Off ? Tuesday, July 01, 2008
It seems like every year we're forced to sit on the edge of our seats while we wait to find out if Supernatural will be renewed for another season. Though the CW drama has some of the most loyal fans of any show on television, the network often under promotes it and focuses more attention on shows like Gossip Girl and Smallville. However, Supernatural fans who are already worrying about the show's shot at a fifth season can breathe a little easier, because Variety is reporting that creator Eric Kripke has signed a new two-year pact with Warner Brothers TV. Though part of the deal is for Kripke to develop new projects, there's also a stipulation that he'll continue to executive produce and showrun Supernatural for two more seasons.
While this is promising news for fans of the series, I wouldn't take it as a guarantee that Supernatural will see a fifth season. The network could still cancel the show regardless of Kripke's contract, and there have also been rumors swirling around that the CW may be going under within the next year. If that happened, who knows what fate would befall its programming. However, assuming Supernatural keeps drawing in loyal viewers and the network stays stable, the show should live to see five seasons.
Kripke has often said that he has a basic five-year outline for the series, so it'd be great if he's given the opportunity to bring his entire vision to the screen. It's impossible to say what new projects he'll be creating under the deal, but a Supernatural spin-off isn't out of the question. In the past, Kripke has mentioned an idea for a possible Samuel Colt spin-off set in the Old West. Maybe this contract with Warner Brothers will allow him to bring that vision to life.
Aside from his work on Supernatural, Kripke also helped the WB develop its short-lived Tarzan update back in 2003. Let's hope that whatever he comes up with next is similar to the adventures of the Winchester brothers rather than the antics of a loincloth-wearing hero.

'Supernatural' Creator Sells Soul To Warner Bros.
By ALAN STANLEY BLAIR
He may deal with demons and other creatures that go bump in the night on “Supernatural,” and now creator Eric Kripke has sold his soul to Warner Bros. television … at least for two years.
Although the terms of the deal state that Kripke will continue to executive produce the paranormal series, that doesn’t mean “Supernatural” is entirely safe. The terms of the deal also have Kripke developing new projects for the Warner Bros. brand.
However, there is an interesting notion that one of these new projects will turn out to be a prequel to “Supernatural” set in the era of the old west, revolving around the show’s mythology.
The agreement itself is similar to one that is currently in play at Fox with actress Eliza Dusku (currently developing “Dollhouse” with former “Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator, Joss Whedon) and at The CW with Justin Hartley who will be reprising his Green Arrow role on “Smallville.”
“Supernatural” returns for its fourth season in the fall.
Padalecki: Losing Jensen Would Be 'Supernatural' Hell
Source: SciFi Wire
Jared Padalecki recently took a moment in his busy schedule to chat with reporters on the set of his movie "Friday the 13th" (a reboot that combines elements of the first three films) about his cult favorite The CW series "Supernatural."
He told reporters that shooting for the upcoming fourth season is planned for the first week of July, barring an actor's strike in July. The early shooting schedule should allow "Supernatural" to air new episodes with "Smallville."
Padalecki knows nothing about the next season. He hasn't seen a script or spoken with series creator Eric Kripke. The only person involved in "Supernatural" that he has talked to is his co-star Jensen Ackles, who is currently shooting his own horror movie, "My Bloody Valentine 3-D." Both of their horror films are slated for an early 2009 release.
"He and I have just been keeping in touch, you know? But I haven't seen scripts or read scripts or heard any ideas. So I'm completely" in the dark, Padalecki said.
Ackles' character Dean faced a terrible fate in the Season 3 finale.
Fans are concerned about Dean's fate after he was last seen dangling from hooked chains in Hell. Some worried that Jensen Ackles may have been written off the show. Padalecki is in the dark too, so is he worried that his co-star may not be coming back?
Padalecki isn't thrilled with the idea of starring in the show without Ackles, but was pretty optimistic that he would be back.
"I'm sure Jensen is going to be a huge part of the show, as he always has been. Same as always. Just in hell," Padelecki said with a laugh.
Don't worry too much though. Kripke recently told TV Guide that Dean will be back, but there will be a big mystery surrounding on how he escaped. He has also revealed that Ruby and the hunter Rufus will return as well.
"Supernatural" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
Warner Home Video Announces 'Supernatural: Season 3'
Wednesday, May 21, 2008
Warner Home Video has announced the 3rd season of SUPERNATURAL, which stars Jared Padalecki, and Jensen Ackles. DVD Active reports that the 5-disc package will be available to own on the 2nd of September, and should retail at around $59.98. Each of the episodes will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. No extra material will be included on this one thus far.
'Supernatural' creator talks season four
The creator of ITV2 sci-fi drama Supernatural has revealed what fans can expect from the fourth season.
Eric Kripke said viewers will be treated to a "jaw-dropping" third season finale before meeting a "new species" of supernatural being in the next run.
He told E Online!: "We're gonna spend a little less time talking about giant movements and war and more time talking about the brothers' relationship and how they react to that war.
"I think we sort of have a new species of supernatural being that we'll be introducing in season four that will take people by surprise. We have a few tricks up our sleeves."
Talking about the countdown towards Dean (Jensen Ackles) going down to hell in exchange for the life of brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) following his deal with the Crossroads Demon, Kripke said: "His soul is coming due, and the boys are getting more desperate, trying to find ways to stop it."
He added that the current season will see the end of the storyline involving Lauren Cohan's character Bela, saying: "It's not great news for her, and we show a couple of cards we've been holding onto all season, and we sort of reveal why she is, who she is and what kind of secrets she's been holding, in a way that will surprise the audience and kind of tie her into the story.
"We've already announced elsewhere that Lauren will not be coming back next year, so I think we kind of send her off in an appropriate and dramatic way."

Supernatural is one of the most underrated shows on television. I watch it when its on, and I think a fourth season is set. A fifth would be good too, but with anything on television it is always dependent on the ratings, no matter how many fans a show has.

Okie dokie so I'm glad to see that they didn't cancelled the show also I found something, Nothing confirmed yet :
Int. Unknown Location
A shaken, defenseless Guy crouches beside Bobby, checking his pulse. Castiel states that the guy’s friend is alive. The Guy asks just who is Castiel. Castiel answers with his name. The Guy says that he figured that, but what is Castiel.
Castiel replies that he’s a demon. Guy says that Castiel burned out the poor woman’s eyes. Castiel defends that he warned her to spy oh his true form. It can be overwhelming to humans, so can his real voice, but that our Guy knows that already.
It clicks together for our Guy and he recalls that the voice at the gas station and motel room was Castiel. He tells Castiel to talk quieter next time. Castiel somewhat apologizes saying that it was his mistake. Certain people, special people can see his true visage, and he thought that our Guy would be one of them. But he was wrong.
Guy pokes fun, asking what ‘visage’ Castiel is in now ‘cause he looks like a tax accountant. Castiel says that this look is merely a vessel. Guy states that Castiel is just possessing someone. But Castiel replies that his vessel wanted this.
Guy says that it might’ve been easier if Castiel would’ve shown up in a vessel the first time. But Castiel states that finding a human vessel durable enough to contain him isn’t easy. Guy jokes that he has that same problem with woman then says that he ain’t buying what Castiel is selling, so what is he really?
Castiel says that he already told Guy, and Guy says that right, and why would someone rescue him. Castiel returns that good things can happen and Guy says that it doesn’t in his experience. Castiel asks Guy what’s the matter, doesn’t Guy deserve to live.
He’s hit a nerve and our Guy asks why’d Castiel do it. Castiel replies that he has work for Guy.
Int. Hotel Hallway
There’s a knock on the door, and the door opens revealing a hot chic wearing a flimsy robe. She isn’t expected and the girl is a bit confused herself. She asks the two at the door where it is. And Guy returns with a clueless where’s what?
The Hot Chick points out that she’s supposed to have a pizza, and asks if it really takes two guys to deliver it. Guy stammers that he thinks he has the wrong room.
Sam Winchester enters the room, from the bathroom asking if the pizza is here. But he’s startled by what he sees at the door and charges, shoving our Guy against the wall, pulling out a silver knife. The Hot Chick screams.
Int. Motel Room – Later
The Hot Chick is watching on, totally weirded out, she asks if Sam and this guy is together, and Sam says that no, that the guy is his Dad. Hot chick excuses herself without a protest from Sam. She says that she’s just gonna change in the bathroom, and Guy says she could just change right in the room. Hot Chick rolls here eyes and tells Guy to keep dreaming.
Int. Hotel Hallway – Moments Later.
Hot Chick is leaving the hotel room, Sam seeing her out. She tells Sam to call her, and Sam says sure thing, Kathy. The Hot Chick corrects him. Her name is Kristy. She heads down the hall, and Sam closes the door.
Random Scene - - -
It’s Kristy the hot chic from Sam’s room. But she shouldn’t be here. She congratulates Sam on how slick he’s getting, how much he’s improving. Sam asks what took her so long, and Kristy says that a small fry like that, Sam should send ‘em packing’ himself by now, not relying on her.
Sam asks what the hell is going on and Kristy moves over to one of the corpses, inspecting the eyes. She’s tense and unsettled at what’s before her. Kristy says that she wishes she knew, and Sam replies that they were thinking some high level demon attacked Bobby. Kristy says there’s no way. This kind of power makes the sky bleed and the ground quake. No demon can pull something off like that, not even Lilith.
Sam asks then what can. Kristy says its nothing she’s ever seen before.
Sam and Kristy sit at a table, deep in conversation. Kristy asks if Sam’s gonna tell Bobby. Sam says he plans to just got to figure out the right way to say it. He just needs some time. Kristy points out that Bobby’s gonna find out, and if its not from Sam then Bobby’s gonna be really pissed.
Sam returns that Bobby’s going to be pissed anyway, and Kristy says that maybe she should hang around for a bit more. Sam protests, but Kristy says that she may not be in Bobby’s fan club, but she’s not coming between him and Sam either.
Ext. Pamela’s House – Day
Bobby rings the bell and the door opens revealing Pamela, early 40s, sporting a Ramone’s T-shirt. Pamela’s excited to see Bobby and Bobby says that Pamela’s a sight for sore eyes. She asks Bobby if this is the kid.
Bobby says yep and then states that Pamela Barnes is the best damn psychic in the state. Pamela looks the kid up and down and tells the two to come on in.
Int. Pamela’s House—Moments Later
Bobby and Pamela move around the house, toward the kitchen. Bobby asks if Pamela’s heard anything. Pamela says she Ouija-d her way through a ton of spirits, and no one knows what happened or how. Bobby ask what’s the next step, and Pamela suggest a séance ‘cause maybe they can see what they’re up against.
Bobby asks if Pamela’s gonna summon the thing here. Pamela says no, she just wants a sneak peek.
Int. Pamela’s House – Kitchen – Day
Pamela moves to and fro across the room, preparing it for the séance. As Pamela goes to reach for some candles, her shirt lifts revealing a tattoo just about her butt. It says Jesse Forever.
Sam asks who Jesse is and Pamela says it wasn’t forever. Sam says it was Jesse’s loss. Pamela retorts that it might be Sam’s gain. On her way to get more supplies, Pamela looks toward Bobby and says that he’s invited too.
Int. Pamela’s House – Kitchen – Moments Later
Everyone’s around the table, candles lit, ready for the séance. Pamela tells everyone to take each other’s hand, and she’s got to touch something it touched. She reaches for Sam’s lap and Sam stops her. Pamela grins mischievously and says its her mistake.
Pamela presses her palm against Sam’s chest and shuts her eyes, beginning her chant to conjure. She keeps going but stops and in question, says the name Azazel?
Bobby asks her what she’s seeing and Pamela says that it’s name is Azazel. And then picks up the chant, saying that she commands Azazel to show it’s face.
Pamela keeps repeating, a racket begins, the table is even shaking under the force of it all. Bobby warns that they should stop. Pamela says that she’s almost got it and commands Azazel to show it’s face now.
Pamela lets loose an agonized scream and collapses. Bobby panics calling out to Pamela, and she stirs weakly, asking what happened?

Details on the 'Supernatural' Season 4 Premiere
While many of us were preparing for a long holiday weekend, the cast and crew of Supernatural were getting ready to go back to work. The gang reconvened in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 2 to begin filming the fourth season premiere of the CW series, entitled "Lazarus Rising." The network recently announced that the new season will kick off on Thursday, September 18, and now we have some interesting details regarding the plot of the premiere. There are some light spoilers ahead, so read on at your own risk.

With a title like "Lazarus Rising," I think it's safe to assume that Dean (Jensen Ackles) will likely be up and walking around again by the end of the season premiere. For those not familiar with the Bible, Lazarus was a man who was dead for four days before being resurrected by Jesus. It's interesting that the Supernatural writers would put such an obvious reference in the episode title. Maybe they want to assure fans that Dean won't stay dead for long.
TV Guide recently reported that actress Traci Dinwiddie has been cast as Pamela Barnes in Supernatural's season premiere. The character is described as being "kick ass hot looking in a Gina Gershon kind of way." As Bobby mentions in the episode, Pamela is considered "the best damn psychic in the state," and she's recruited by him and Sam (Jared Padalecki) to track down demons and possibly learn more about Dean's fate. Now that we know that Katie Cassidy won't be returning as Ruby, maybe Pamela will be the one to help Dean fight his way out of Hell.
According to spoilers posted at Supernatural.tv, it looks like Pamela, Bobby and Sam will be participating in a séance, possibly in an attempt to contact Dean. However, in the middle of the séance the psychic stumbles upon another spirit: Azazel. Could old yellow eyes also have a hand in resurrecting the deceased Winchester? We'll have to wait and find out.
The fourth season premiere of Supernatural is now less than two months away, so dust off your Colt and zip up your meat suit, because the wait is nearly over.
