"Supernatural" music

I was listening to some 70s/80s rock today, and realized that John Winchester didn't seem to have any Pat Benatar, Lita Ford, Fleetwood Mac or even Heart in his collection, to pass on to Dean.

A male rock fan in John's age group would most certainly have the works of these folks, whose posters lined his walls, in his collection!

Let's hear some "Crazy On You" coming out of the Impala's speakers. Throw in some "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" as well!

Some Cyndi Lauper, maybe. Dean driving the Impala, singing along to "Girls Just Want To Have Fun."

Dean would rather die and go back to Hell.

Sam, on the other hand, just might. Did you hear that lame-o song he was playing in "Lazarus Rising"? Dean ripped the iPod out of the mount, and threw it into the back seat.

That's what I would have done.

Dean likes some of the cheesier 80s hair bands, though ("Survivor", for instance) though I think both he and John would have Zeppelin, which also hasn't been played on this show. SHEESH.

Let's hear Benatar! Heart! Zep!

I like Heart but I can't really see Dean being a fan. Pat Benatar now, she seems tough enough for Dean, but he's probably not adventurous enough to go there of his own free will. Not to mention most of her music is chick power ballads. It's too bad though because she's got the kick-butt attitude that suits the show and the Impala would probably appreciate a little female empowerment music as we all know she is the strong female lead of the series.

Are you kidding me? The most macho guys around loved those women! (my own husband among them) I was there, and remember it well. I didn't know a single young male rock fan who didn't love Benatar, Heart, etc.

But even with that aside, Dean's old music is actually his dad's collection, and I'm telling you, a guy in John's age group would have been having lots of inappropriate thoughts about those ladies, while air-guitar-ing his little tush off!
