Supernatural Season 2 Premiere Ratings

Supernatural, Jared Padalecki, wb, cast Time-period competitor "CSI" on CBS was No.2 for the night in adults 18 to 49 with a 7.9, up 3 percent from its season premiere last week. NBC scored a 3.2 at 9 p.m. with "Deal or no Deal," which was down 11 percent from its time-period premiere last week, followed by the season premiere of "Supernatural" on The CW, which garnered a 1.6, down 36 percent from its Tuesday debut last season on The WB. In adults 18 to 34, The CW's target demo, "Supernatural" scored a 1.8, down 31 percent from its debut performance last season. However, "Supernatural" outperformed the premiere of "Everwood" in the time period last year by 23 percent in adults 18 to 49 and 38 percent in adults 18 to 34. On Fox, part one of the "Celebrity Duets" finale" scored a 1.5 in adults 18 to 49.

NBC's comedy "My Name is Earl" scored a 3.4, down 11 percent from it season premiere last week, while at 8:30 p.m., "The Office" garnered a 3.7, down 14 percent from last week's premiere. On Fox an original "'Til Death" scored a 2.4 at 8 p.m., while a repeat "Death" at 8:30 p.m. scored a 2.3, filling in for the network's benched new comedy, "Happy Hour." On The CW the season premiere of "Smallville" scored a 2.2 in adults 18 to 49, down 29 percent from its season premiere last year. In adults 18 to 34 "Smallville" hit a 2.5, down 19 percent from its premiere last year.

ABC was the top broadcaster in adults 18 to 49 with a 6.2, followed by CBS (6.0), NBC (4.3) and Fox and The CW (both 1.9).
