David Boreanaz illness halts "Bones"
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – The jitters over a possible swine flu outbreak in the United States hit the set of Fox's comedy-drama "Bones" on Monday.
Production on the show was shut down for one day because star David Boreanaz was sick with flu-like symptoms. "First time in 'Bones' history we are shut down from production," "Bones" creator Hart Hanson tweeted. "Damn swine flu! That's gonna cut into Christmas hiatus." A spokesman for 20th Century Fox TV, which produces "Bones," downplayed the production stoppage. "David is out with the flu and the show shut down today since he was in every scene," the spokesman said. "We hope to resume production tomorrow." If he has the flu, he'll likely be sick for more than one day.
Also, I get really irritated with the TV people today who complain about how overworked they are. They produce half the number of episodes per season than shows in the '80s, and the bigwigs, like the series creator, is getting paid so much that I cannot feel any sympathy for him having to cut a few days off his Christmas break. I will happily trade places with Mr. Hanson. |
