Ok, I have a sorta random question:
Does anyone else feel a little like Torchwood is a replacement of sorts for UNIT? While I'm glad to see there is a bit of tie-over, I have to confess I sorta bristled for a while over the apparent ignoring of UNIT.. |

You and me both, Elionwyr! I'm glad they haven't completely ignored UNIT and yet they have often portrayed UNIT as the "bad guys" in the rivalry. I don't know how RTD felt about UNIT when he was growing up watching the show, but Torchwood is definitely his baby, so of course he's going to treat them better in his show. Can't wait to see what (if anything) happens with UNIT during Moffat's reign.
Did you catch the Brig's appearance in "Sarah Jane Adventures"? Sadly, he wasn't looking too well. The way they shot it, it seemed like he must be having trouble getting around. It'd be nice if they could get back John Levene (Sgt. Benton, who'd surely be a Brigadier now himself, if he stayed in service) for a guest appearance. |
