If they changed the actor for twilight that plays Edward?

If they changed the actor for twilight that plays Edward, would people love the new actor as much as patinson?

i wanna know because of the hype around Robert pattinson and if its all just because the character of Edward or if Robert pattinson is really hot, and to all those hopeless people, Edward is a fictional character, there is no perfect man out there or at least they are rare. So if Danial Radcliffe plays edward, would everyone really love him like rob pat?

I think I get your point, and let me tell you, Twilight is as popular as this mainly because of Rob.
Rob is popular with Twilight fans, so no, I don't think fans would like other actor to play Edward. I personally think he suits the character and I hate when the same actor doesn't play the same character in a secuel.

I think that if any actor played Edward, the reaction would be the same. In interviews with Rob, he's stated that there were petitions, etc that were against him playing the role of Edward. It wasn't until Stephenie gave her "okay" that the fans turned around. Honestly, I joined the Twilight band-wagon a little later than most (but before the movie came out) and when I heard that Rob was playing Edward I was a tad disappointed. I remember clearly saying - Ugh, Cedric Diggory is Edward??

Now don't get me wrong, Rob is a great actor and he's convinced me of that in Twilight and I anticipate his other projects. He can take a character and make it work. But I still think if anyone else was cast - it would be the same affect.

I totally agree. If the film did have some other young, hot, actor it would have to be someone really hot and really good. The chemistry has to be there between the main actors. It might happen, but very unlikely.

Absolutly not!!!! Robert is exactly what i imagined when i pictured Edward... after robest playing edward in Twilgiht it would not be the same if he was replaced in any of the other movies! I dk that i would be as please id still have to watch but i dk if id like it as much!!!

There would be some pretty p'd off ppl to take the character of edward away from Rob... ME FOR INSTANCE.. Rob was made for that character..

i would definitely not be happy if they changed the actors around. i mean look at the hype it caused when they switched Rachelle! i couldn't imagine if they changed rob!

If, originally, Rob hadn't been cast as Edward, then I have no doubt in my mind but that the world woudl be fawning over whoever had been chosen - however, if they were to replace Rob with another actor NOW, it would be a massive blow to Twilight ; imagine it! :o

The first part of your statement is what I was trying to say, but I think you did a better job getting the message across!!

I totally think that if ANY young actor were originally cast for Edward, Twi-hards would be all over his stuff like they are with Robert.

I don't think Summit is that stupid to replace Robert - although they have surprised us in the past.

Yeah, I don't think Summit is that stupid either. Casting a new actor to play Edward is very risky at this moment.

Rob does an awesome job, but if someone else came and did as good a job, or better, he would be recieved with open arms, because its Edward everyone loves, not Robert.

Now that I have seen Rob as Edward I can't imagine another actor. He to me seems much like the Edward of the books.

I was very shocked when they replaced Rachelle Lefevre, I will be very curious to see how the new actress does. I really liked Rachelle in the role.
