DAMON SALVATORE/
IAN SOMERHALDER

The older and more dangerous of the Salvatore brothers, Damon has a long and bitter past with his brother. Damon is often violent and brutal, and is out for Elena's love and soul, a story of deja vu, as Damon has tried to steal love from his younger brother before. Damon is played by Ian Somerhalder, best known for his role as Boone on "Lost". Ian has also starred in "Pulse," "Life as a House," "The Wake," "Young Americans," and "Rules of Attraction".

I'm grateful that we'll be able see him more on tv. He just died too early on Lost

Also I think he'll do great as an evil vampire

I think he will be awesome, he suits the character very much.
Yeah, ever since he died in Lost I stopped watching it.

Ian is doing such an awesome job with this character. I've seen him act in movies and other tv shows but him playing Damon is like wow.

I only got to watch a little bit from last night's episode - Damon had the best line(s):

What's with this Bella girl? Edward is just whipped (or something like that)

Then Caroline asks "why don't you sparkle?"

Damon "because I live in the real world. I burn to a crisp in the sun"

CLASSIC!! I love Twilight, but that was so funny!!

He does get the best lines. He usually does something hilarious in every episode. Last week was the "go team!" part for me.

Got to agree Damon gets the best lines, loved the nod to Twilight. Can't wait to see what happens next week. I am half tempted to read the books I am really enjoying the show. My daughter has read all the books

I've read the first 4 books (which are actually 2 books now - they combined story 1&2 and 3&4) and I didn't find them all that great personally. I think the show is WAY better than the books. I even tried to read her newer book based on Elena/Stefan/Damon and could not get past like chapter 4.

If you're stuck without something to read and you REALLY want to read these books, I suggest hitting up a used book store or the library.
