Hey everyone,

I wanted to give a quick introduction about Goozex, repeat the details of the current promotion here on Fanbolt, and help answer any questions you guys may have. Thanks to Emma and the Fanbolt crew for letting us run a promo here and start this thread.

For the past three years Goozex has been known as the place to get the best value for your video games, trade them with other members, earn Goozex Points, and get other games for only $1. In August we extended our trading service into movie trading. We now support movie trading for DVD, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, and UMD formats for US and Canadian members. There are now over 9,500 movie titles available for trading!

In short, Goozex connects members across the country and let's them trade their movies and games for Goozex Points, which they can use to get other items for only $1. We are a hassle-free service and we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service in case you need it.

The pricing of movies and games is done by our patented algorithm and takes into account internal supply & demand, list price of the item, and release date. And how it works is pretty simple. Let's say you offer Dark Knight on DVD. The system will automatically match you with a buyer and after you agree to send the movie we will transfer 200 points, the current price of the movie, from the buyer account to yours. At the same time you offered Dark Knight, let's say you requested Iron Man, which is valued at 150 points. With the 200 points earned for sending Dark Knight you will get matched with a seller for Iron Man and someone will send you their copy directly. You keep Iron Man and do with it as you want -- it is now your copy!

Thanks! I had never heard about Goozex before, but I opened my account yesterday and already had 2 trades when I woke up this morning! Now I can send them and get something cool for myself! Thanks for letting us know about this!!

This is a pretty impressive website, but I have a question in order to trade say a movie you need to burn it to your computer 1st and the upload it on the site? Or can you send a copy that you downloaded have saved on your computer from before? Your literally trading a hard copy dvd or video game right?

It's hard copies that you trade with other people via mail. I have 2 trades that I mailed out today. It's a great way to get rid of old stuff y ou don't want anymore.

Hi Kraza,

You actually trade real discs. You send out the movies and games you own and you get in the mail the games and movies you want.

Yeah I have A TON of dvds I'm going to be doing this with as soon as this semester is over. I literally have over 60 dvds I don't want anymore... hopefully someone on the site will be interested in them and I can get some good fresh stuff!

That's so cool. I have a question though, what if you ask for a movie/game and get it but it doesn't work properly? Like does the user garantee that they will send a good copy?

Goozex has a feedback system in place that allows the buyer to report negative feedback in cases where you may receive an unplayable, broken, wrong or pirated disc. The seller will have 3 days to dispute the feedback. If they don't, then you get an automatic refund on the points and token. If they do, then you can try to resolve the trade issue or escalate to Goozex for an official review.

That's good. I've had a couple issues with people on Ebay and I was wondering about that too. Though Paypal has a good system in place too.

nice. definitely going to check this out. i have so many games that i don't play anymore. would be great to get rid of them and get something for them, i hate had stores where you trade them in rip you off. like gamestop. this definitely sounds like a better way of doing it.

Oh I've messed with Gamestop before doing trade-in's as well. It wasn't a pleasant experience for me either. I'm going to sit down and go through my dvds this weekend to pull them together for this. I'm excited!

Yeah, I hate messing with Game Stop for trades. This site is really cool. I have earned about 2400 points, got rid of some old stuff, and got some new stuff I wanted!!
