Elle Fanning (Super 8) has signed on to star opposite Angelina Jolie in Disney's Maleficent, their live-action fantasy film that focuses on the villainess in Sleeping Beauty.
Fanning will play Sleeping Beauty, aka Princess Aurora.
Robert Stromberg will direct Maleficent from a screenplay by Linda Woolverton (Alice in Wonderland).

I loved her in Super 8. I see her as a bit young for this role, but we'll see. She's a fantastic actress!

My knowledge of Aurora is purely based on the Disney - and all the Disney princesses always looked older than teenagers to me - even though they were supposed to be teens. With the exception of Ariel and Rapunzel that is.
