The Bourne Legacy has ended Batman's run at the top of the box office opening at #1 with $40.3 million. Opening in #2 was Zack Galifianakis and Will Ferrell's The Campaign, which delivered a better-than-expected $27.4 million. After three weeks at the top, The Dark Knight Rises slipped two places to #3 grossing in $19.5 million in its fourth week. Opening at #4 was Hope Springs bringing in $15.6. Slipping two spots to #5 in its second weekend was Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days pulling in $8.2 million.

It was only a matter of time until Batman lost its perch at the #1 spot. Three weeks is a decent time at the top spot, but --I'm sorry -- "Dark Knight Rises" was WAY over-hyped and is WAY too long and...boring. Snore!

I watched it twice and love it even more.
