Legendary martial artist and philosopher Bruce Lee, who died 36 years ago this week, will have a three-part biopic made about him. The trilogy is being made in cooperation with the family of the star.

Robert Lee, Lee's younger brother will be the movie producer and his older sister, Phoebe Lee, will also help in making the movie. It's the first time that Bruce Lee’s family has authorized a movie about the legendary star.

During a press conference with J.A Media to announce the project, Robert Lee said he wanted to give an authoritative account of his brother’s life. "We’ve read many books and seen many movies about Bruce Lee, but there are many inaccuracies in them". He continued to say "There are many books or movies about my brother, but I think they are not even close to truth. I want to make the movie of a true Bruce Lee and then I have no more regrets in my life,"

Shooting will start in October with Tony Leung Ka-fai (Jet Li's Hero) as Lee's father. Additional cast information has not been confirmed. The first film is set to be released on November 27th, 2010, the 70th anniversary of Lee’s birth.
