Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Joe Quesada held a Q&A at the Big Apple Comic-Con in which he discussed 'The First Avenger: Captain America', saying the following:

"I've seen a couple of outlines and an initial screenplay, and it's going to rock everyone's socks off. It's very unexpected, the kind of movie it is."

Quesada also mentioned that The First Avenger: Captain America will set up 'The Avengers' in a fantastic way.' The First Avenger: Captain America' is expected to have a July 22ne, 2011 release date, while The Avengers will be released on May 4th, 2012.
