Martin Scorsese is looking to expand his horizons. Apparently the legendary director is looking to take the helm of ‘The Invention of Hugo Cabret’, which is based on the best-selling children's book by Brian Selznick.

According to reports Scorsese would take this on as his next film if it happens. It would also reunite the team of Scorsese and Graham King of GK Films, who also teamed up on ‘The Departed’. The film is set to be live-action and is being positioned for a June start in London. John Logan, who wrote the script for ‘The Aviator’ for Scorsese, adapted the book for screen.

The story is about Hugo, a 12-year-old orphan who lives in a train station. He is determined to "finish what his late father started by solving the mystery of a broken robot." If Scorsese does take on this project, it will be his first ever children's film.
