Rumors have been surfacing that MTV hit reality show The Hills may return for another season.

Kristen Cavallari says, “There’s a possibility of them ordering 12 more episodes…”I would like to do it. I’m in such a rhythm with things and I’m having a great time. We’re just now starting to get into some really good juicy stuff with a few new people. So I think we could do another 12 episodes and make it pretty good.”

Though it seem that won't be the case, and the rumors have finally been laid to rest. The network has now reported and assures fans that the upcoming 12 episodes will be the series’ last.

“This is truly the last of the Hills because we want the season to go out on a high note that the show deserves and that the fans deserve,” says Tony DiSanto, MTV’s President of Programming and Development.

So Kristen and the rest of her cast mates, including Audrina Patridge, Lauren Bosworth, Spencer Pratt, and Heidi Montag will be saying farewell after the initially slated 12 episodes beginning to air on Tuesday. We wish them all the best of luck with their future projects!
