500 Days Of Summer - Soundtrack Review

With the opening of 500 Days of Summer nationwide, after receiving great reviews at Sundance, the soundtrack is also in stores. The album boasts tracks from artists such as Simon Garfunkel and The Smiths. Regina Spektor and the Black Lips also contribute a few songs.

This album is one that falls under the "If you like the movie you'll like the soundtrack," category. The film does a great job of intertwining the music into the characters lives. With solid efforts on the disc from She and Him on, "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want," and highlights from the Doves "There Goes The Fear," this is a solid album. Some soundtracks become mundane and provide 12 songs that are purely filler for increased revenue. This, however is much different. Not only does this album capture the essence of the movie but it is also a good listen.
