‘The Social Network’ Wins Big At The Golden Globe Awards

The Social Network which tells the story of the creation of Facebook was named Best Picture in the drama category and also won prizes for Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score.

TV musical phenomenon Glee was named Best TV Musical or Comedy while two of its stars, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch, picked up awards for supporting actor and actress respectively.

Natalie Portman won Best Actress. Portman who is expecting her first baby with fiance Benjamin Millepied – said: “Thank you to my parents for bringing me into this world and giving me this beautiful life. And thank you to Benjamin for helping me to bring more creation into the world.”

Other winners at the star-studded ceremony – which was hosted by Ricky Gervais – included Melissa Leo, Christian Bale and Annette Bening.

  1. Ugh, I thought The Social Network was severely overrated and got most of it’s attention due to the subject matter rather than the movie as a whole. I’m a big David Fincher fan and he’s never let me down. Good movie but it didn’t make my Top Ten. I thought Howl was by far the best movie of the year with it’s combination of animation, acting, and cinematography.
