Former THE O.C. star MISCHA BARTON has denied she was dropped by her agent because she hasn't landed any big roles since leaving the hit TV show.
The actress was rumored to have been dropped by the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) - which represents stars including Drew Barrymore and Natalie Portman - after failing to land any high profile acting jobs. in the cast of new movie BHOPAL: A PRAYER FOR RAIN.
The Alfie actress had been lined up to take the female lead in the film, which focuses on the story of a chemical spillage in India. But now 22-year-old Barton will join former West Wing star Martin Sheen in the picture, which is due for release later this year (08). AND I, after reportedly refusing to promote it.
The former The O.C. star initially sparked rumors of her dissatisfaction when she failed to attend the film's premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in France earlier this month (May08). She insisted she "was never due to go", but now You And I director Roland Joffe cannot locate Barton in London to complete promo duties in the British capital. Actress MISCHA BARTON is developing her own line of handbags.
The former The O.C. star has created a range inspired by "vintage" designs she has discovered while traveling the world. The bags, which hit stores in Barton's native U.K. from 2 July (08), will all feature a flower pattern designed by the actress herself. Actress MISCHA BARTON has escaped the temptations of Hollywood following her
2007 arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) - by moving to Paris,
France.
The former The O.C. star was sentenced to three years' unsupervised probation in April (08), after she was arrested in Los Angeles last year (07) for driving under the influence of alcohol, possessing marijuana and driving without a license. But Barton is now eager to leave her wild ways behind her, and has temporarily set up home in the French capital. |
