Our friends over at WhedonAge posted several videos from the Supernatural roundtable press event at Comic Con. Be sure to check them out below. You may or may not be able to see yours truly (or the back of yours truly's head) in the background at another table...
3 More After The Jump! ![]() How is the writing process with show being such a male oriented show?
Sera Gamble: It's fine, it's fine. It's commensurate with the statistics in the industry as a whole. I could be wrong about that. I'm used to being in work environments full of men. It's good. If I say, as a chick, this is what I think. Then they usually just take my word on it. I don't play that card very often. So it's not a hostile environment to work in? Sera Gamble: Oh no, no, no. In fact, it's a really raunchy slightly pornographic room. I like it that way. We're kind of immature and we have Dean's sense of humor in the room. I'm very much included in that. I have the sense of humor of a twelve year old boy, that's why I work on the show. Since there was a split because of all the controversy last season, what's going to happen with your character and the Winchester boys?
Jim Beaver: Well, it's a really difficult question to answer mainly because I don't know the answer. There's something pretty big that happens with Bobby in the first couple of episodes. Really big. It's going to have a huge impact on his relationship with the boys. I don't know what that impact is because I've only seen the first three scripts. I know that there's no way around this being a pivotal event. What it does to their relationship, I don't know. I think Eric has certainly given me the impression that they're going to explore it. Explore how it affects their relationship. Where it's going, I got no idea. Toward the end of last season, Bobby expressed criticism towards John Winchester's fathering techniques. Is it connected to that at all? Jim Beaver: No, actually in some ways this is kind of out of left field. I don't think anybody is going to see this coming. It not the kind of thing you look back and say, "Oh they were setting this up." I was shocked when I read it. I didn't go, "Oh yeah, of course this is the natural progression of the event." This is more like-- For more dirt on Season 5, what's in-store for Bobby, and Jim's Comic Con experience - check out the full interview here - Supernatural Star Jim Beaver Comic Con Interview! ![]() We've actually heard about a lot of pranks on the Supernatural set. Have you ever been a victim to one of these pranks?
Misha Collins: Well, I was just talking about it. We were shooting a scene last week where Jared and Jensen were standing on either side of a doorway, and I have to walk between them to go talk to Bobby. Every single time we shot that, every time, Jared did something different to me as I was walking past them. But he did it right below where the camera could see. So it just looked like I was f*****g up. It would be-he tripped me, he grabbed my ass, he dug his thumb into my ribs. I was trying to keep it together. So that's sort of the tone, the ambient tone. We talked about how Castiel is this stoic kind of character. How difficult is that to maintain? Misha Collins: When Jared is grabbing your ass? It is somewhat difficult to maintain in that context. Honestly, I think that normally it would be a bit easier, but I would have to say that is one of the hardest parts on the show. Tying not to laugh. Eric Kripke: God in the mythology of our show has gone missing. He's not in heaven. There is a bureaucracy of angels who don't necessarily have the most benevolent intent - who are running things in his absences. That's sort of why Zachariah and his ilk have jump-started the apocalypse. I think they just got impatient and there was no one telling them not to. You said that you had a five-year plan for the show. This is going to be season five, so what are your plans? Eric Kripke: The real answer is that we never dreamt it would go five years. At least I didn't. So yes, there was a five-year plan, and a five-year story. We are in the fifth year of that story. This is the last chapter of this volume. We plan on telling it well and climatically. We certainly are also batting around ideas, and there's no reason why there can't be another volume, and no reason a new epic story can't begin. We're not going to stretch this one out past its expiration date. We're not going to drag this one to a place it isn't. We're going to tell it the way it supposed to be told and it's going to end. Another story can begin. That's what we're preparing for, and well just see how the season goes.
