Emma Stone Wins Lead In ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’

Emma Stone will be playing Elizabeth Bennet in Craig Gillespie’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Stone is the first confirmed cast member, and she will take the role originally thought to be played by Natalie Portman, who will stay on the project as a producer.

The movie is based on the book of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith and takes the traditional Jane Austen novel and adds the un-dead into the mix of romance and drama.

Stone, 22, first moved from TV into films in 2007’s Superbad, and has since earned comedy acclaim in movies including The House Bunny and Easy A, about a girl who has to learn to deal with rumours about her sex life which she has started.

This year she will appear in Friends with Benefits with Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis and Crazy, Stupid, Love.
