Theatrical Releases for August 19th: ‘Conan the Barbarian’ And ‘Fright Night’ Hit Theaters

Conan the Barbarian, Fright Night and other flicks hit theaters today! Check out the full list of new releases below!

5 Days of War (R), Action – An American journalist, his cameraman and a Georgian native become caught in the crossfire of the military conflict between Russia and Georgia. Stars Emmanuelle Chriqui, Val Kilmer, and Andy Garcia.

Amigo (R), Drama – The U.S. occupation of the Philippines in 1900 provides the backdrop to this story of squad of American soldiers who occupy a village and learn how to live and negotiate with the natives. They focus on the local head man who finds himself torn between loyalty to his family and the Americans. Stars Garret Dillahunt, D.J. Qualls, and Chris Cooper.

Conan the Barbarian (R), Action Adventure – After watching his fellow tribesmen and his father brutally and cruelly killed, Conan vows to avenge his peoples’ slaughter, even if it means sacrificing his own life in the process.Writer: Sean Hood Stars Jason Momoa, Leo Howard, and Ron Perlman.

Flypaper (NR), Comedy – A man ambles into a bank near closing time, just as two different gangs unwittingly converge to rob it. A shoot-out erupts, and he tackles the smart, pretty teller to protect her. Stars Patrick Dempsey, Time Blake Nelson, and Ashley Judd.

Fright Night (R), Horror – A teenager discovers his neighbor is a vampire. Unable to convince anyone, he has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself. Stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, David Tennant, and Christopher Mintz-plasse.

Griff the Invisible (NR), Comedy – A shy and awkward office worker by day finds escape from his ordinary life by assuming the identity of a fantastic superhero each night. Stars Ryan Kwanten.

Mozart’s Sister (NR), Drama – Originally the featured performer, Nannerl has given way to Wolfgang as the main attraction, as their strict but loving father Leopold tours his talented offspring in front of the royal courts of pre-French revolution Europe. Approaching marriageable age and now forbidden to play the violin or compose, Nannerl chafes at the limitations imposed on her gender. But a friendship with the son and daughter of Louis XV offers her ways to challenge the established sexual and social order. Stars Marie Feret and MArce Barbe.

One Day (PG-13), Romance – Dexter and Emma meet for the first time during their graduation and proceed to meet one day a year for the next 20 years. They experience different lives and loves until they realize they are meant for each other. Stars Anne Hathaway, Jim Sturgess, and Romola Garai.

Spy Kids: All the time in the World (PG), Family – When the maniacal Timekeeper threatens to take over the planet a retired spy is called back into action by the head of OSS, home of the greatest spies and where the now-defunct Spy Kids division was created. With Armageddon quickly approaching, her stepchildren are thrust into action when they learn their boring stepmom was once a top agent and now the world’s most competitive ten year olds are forced to put their bickering aside and rely on their wits. Stars Jessica Alba, Joel McHale, and Jeremy Piven.

The Hedgehog (NR), Drama – A young girl bent on ending it all on her upcoming twelfth birthday uses her father’s old camcorder to chronicle the hypocrisy she sees in adults. As an unlikely friendship deepens with a gruff building concierge, her own coming of age becomes a much less pessimistic prospect. Stars Josiane Balasko, Togo Igawa, and Ariane Ascaride.

The Mistaken (NR), Thriller – The story centers on an American man who becomes a terrorist suspect while traveling with his family.
