J.J. Abrams Directing ‘Star Trek 2’

JJ Abrams has officially committed to direct Star Trek 2. The script is expected to be done soon and pre-production has already started. Production on Star Trek 2 was delayed due to JJ Abrams working on Super 8, and also due to one of the writers, Alex Kurtzman, being busy directing Welcome to People.

Star Trek 2 was going to open on July 29th, 2012 but that date has been given to G.I. Joe 2. At this time, there has been no new release date set for the film.
