Weekend Box Office Report: The Lion Is Still King

The Lion King 3D held on to the #1 spot in its second week in re-release bringing in $22.1 million for the top spot. Brad Pitt’s Moneyball performed admirably, grossing $20.6 million to take #2 in its opening weekend. Dolphin Tale also performed very well, bringing in $20.2 million in its first weekend for #3. Taylor Lautner’s Abduction opened in the #4 spot with $11.2 million. Opening in #5 was Killer Elite grossing $9.5 million.
