Theatrical Releases for January 20th: ‘Haywire,’ ‘Underworld’ And More Hit Theaters

Haywire, Underworld: Awakening, and more hit theaters today! We’ve got the full list for you below!

16-Love (PG), Comedy – When the number one junior player in the country is injured, she begins to discover the teenage life she never got to live and find the love she never thought she’d have. Stars Lindsey Shaw, Chandler Massey, and Keith Coulouris.

Carol Channing: Larger Than Life (NR), Documentary – Chronicles the 90-year-old icon both onstage and off, past and present. The film is both an intimate love story and a rarefied journey inside Broadway’s most glamorous era.

Coriolanus (R), Drama – Coriolanus, the hero of Rome, is manipulated and out-maneuvered by politicians and even his own mother, resulting in his banishment. He subsequently offers himself to his sworn enemy, and together they march on Rome intending to destroy the city. Stars Ralph Fiennes, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jessica Chastain.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos (NR), Animation – In the lost holy land of Milos, the Elrics search for the truth behind an unknown form of alchemy.

Haywire (R), Action – A girl from the wrong side of the tracks is given a second chance to use her skills for constructive purposes. Stars Gina Carano, Channing Tatum, and Ewan McGregor.

Miss Bala (NR), Drama – An aspiring beauty queen finds her dream corrupted when she unwillingly gets involved with a criminal group at war in Mexico.

Red Tails (PG-13), Drama – In 1944 the Pentagon sends in the African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home; they are given the ultimate chance to show their courage. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country and the fate of the free world. He Flowers of War (R), Adventure – The story of China’s Nanjing Massacre, which involved Japanese troops killing thousands of Chinese citizens in what was then the nation’s capital in 1937 and an American priest who helps a great number of Chinese escape certain death. Stars Christian Bale.

Underworld: Awakening (R), Action – Vampire warrior Selene escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species. Stars Kate Beckinsale, Michael Ealy, and Scott Speedman.

Watching TV with the Red Chinese (NR), Drama – In New York City in 1980, Dexter Mitchell plays half-willing big brother to his neighbors, a trio of exchange students from the People’s Republic of China. Stars Ryan O’Neal.
