Theatrical Releases for February 17th: ‘Ghost Rider’ And More Hit Theaters Today!

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, The Secret World of Arrietty and more hit theaters today! We’ve got the full list for you below!

Bullhead (R), Drama – For a young man working on his family’s cattle farm in eastern Belgium the crime ring surrounding the use of banned growth hormones represents both a financial opportunity and the possible exposure of his own troubled past. With an old friend urging him to agree to an illegal deal, he finds himself drawn into a dangerous web that has already resulted in the death of a policeman investigating the ring. Stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Jeroen Perceval, and Barbara Sarafian.

Deep in the Heart (PG-13), Drama – An alcoholic man refocuses himself on putting kids through college via 4H and FFA scholarship donations. Stars Val Kilmer and Jon Gries.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (PG-13), Action – The story sees Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider, hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on The Devil , who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the kid’s birthday. Stars Nicolas Cage, Idris Elba, and Johnny Whitworth.

On the Ice (NR), Drama – In the remote Alaskan town of Barrow, two Iñupiaq teenagers get in over their heads when a seal hunting trip in the snow-packed landscape leads to a quarrel and a fatal accident. Stars Frank Qutuq Irelan, Adamina Kerr, and John Miller.

Putin’s Kiss (NR), Documentary – Nashi is an increasingly popular political youth organization with direct ties to The Kremlin. Officially, its goal is to support the current political system by creating future elite among the brightest and most loyal Russian teenagers. But their agenda is also to keep the political opposition from spreading their views among the Russians.

The Lady (R), Drama – The story of Aung San Suu Kyi and her husband, Michael Aris and the epic story of the peaceful quest of the woman who is at the core of Burma’s democracy movement. Stars Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis.

The Secret World of Arrietty (G), Fantasy – A tiny, but tenacious 14-year-old lives with her parents in the recesses of a suburban garden home unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper. Like all little people, they remain hidden from view, except during occasional covert ventures beyond the floorboards to “borrow” scrap supplies like sugar cubes from their human hosts. But when 12-year-old human boy discovers his mysterious housemates one evening, a secret friendship blossoms.

Thin Ice (R), Comedy – A small-time insurance agent is looking for a way to jump-start his business, reunite with his estranged wife and escape the frigid Wisconsin weather. This self-proclaimed master of spin believes that salesmanship is about selling a story and all he needs is a sucker willing to buy it. He hits pay dirt with a lonely retired farmer who is sitting on something much bigger than an insurance commission. But his attempt to con the old man spins out of control when a nosy, unstable locksmith with a volatile temper dramatically ups the stakes, trapping him in a madcap spiral of danger, deceit and double-crossing.
