‘Wynonna Earp’ Cast Teases Long-Awaited Season 4 at Comic-Con@Home Panel

Wynonna Earp

Team FanBolt may not have been in San Diego this year, but Comic-Con@Home made sure we had the best of the Wynonna Earp panel right in our own living rooms. Stars Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, Katherine Barrell, and Varun Saranga joined showrunner Emily Andras and moderator Katie Wilson for The Earpiest Panel.

Fan interaction was at a minimum, with the panel pre-recorded and the comments turned off, but cast and creator were able to answer several fan questions submitted via Twitter. Questions ranged from “If there were a Wynonna Earp time capsule when the show ends, what would you put in it?” and (Doc’s guns, Peacemaker, “something spoilery” from this season, and Wynonna’s positive pregnancy test) to a fairly insightful question about Nicole’s original fate, had Barrell and Provost-Chalkley not had such great chemistry on-screen (Andras promised that she would never have been killed off in that unlikely event).

Understandably, everyone on the panel was effusive in their thanks to the Earpers (the name adopted by the passionate Wynonna Earp fanbase) for fighting for the creation of a fourth season. “It’s incredible, but there is a sense of ‘how do we pay back all these people who ensured that we could keep going’,” said showrunner Andras. After a two-year hiatus, that payback came in the form of a gripping sneak preview of the season four premiere, complete with snarky references to the show’s time off the air. “I feel like I’ve been standing here for two years.”

With the show shifting to that just-past-primetime slot of 10/9c and gaining a rating of TV-MA, Andras teased that we can expect to see a show that’s “more sexy, more violent, […] more of everything.” Given the amazing season premiere that aired the very Sunday after the panel, I have no doubt that this season will live up to that description!
