Harry Potter: Can You Smell What The IQA Is Cooking?


The International Quidditch Association is taking the competition off the pitch and onto Facebook. The IQA has announced its first Social Media based contest, “The Quidditch Culinary Classic”. The contest is an IQA inspired Recipe Challenge that will be launched on their Facebook page from April 23rd 2012 until May 14th 2012. Fans, friends and foes will have the chance to compete against each other in a unique platform. For the first time in IQA history competitors don’t need to worry about getting covered in grass and mud stains, only in flour and butter.

Entering the contest is easy and any muggle can do it.


  1. The participant MUST enjoy the sport of Quidditch and the consumption of tasty treats of both sweet and savory variety.

  4. Take and submit a photo that showcases a homemade dish inspired by the world of quidditch. Upload the image to the photo contest App located on the International Quidditch Association’s Facebook page and include a caption that explains the dish displayed.
  5. Get your friends, family and foes to vote for your submission.
  6. One Grand Prize Winner and Two Runner-ups will be chosen from the Top 10 most “Liked” entries.
  7. Winners will receive a prize pack like no other
  8. The top 3 winning dishes will have their recipes published in the June issues of Quidditch Quarterly and on the International Quidditch Association website.

Immersing themselves in the spirit of the event, the IQA turned to FooGos, an organization that specializes in transforming company logos into edible masterpieces. The artist behind the creation, Scott Modrzynski, lent his talents to the “Quidditch Culinary Classic” by converting the IQA logo into a work of Jelly Bean art. The International Quidditch Association promotes and governs the real-life sport of Quidditch, facilitating competitive play through annual tournaments and regional conferences.
