Louis Leterrier to Direct Sacha Baron Cohen in ‘Grimsby’
Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me) is set to direct Sacha Baron Cohen’s new spy comedy Grimsby for Paramount. Baron Cohen and Phil Johnston sold the film as a pitch to Paramount last August.
The film follows a British black ops agent who is forced to go on the run with his long lost brother, a northern English soccer hooligan.
Baron Cohen started looking for a director for the film after he departed the Freddy Mercury biopic. He had been meeting with directors that could film action like Leterrier and DJ Caruso (I Am Number Four). Leterrier has been pursuing the project since Now You See Me debuted and met with both Baron Cohen and Paramount several times.
