Tom Cruise will be taking on the role of Jack Reacher again. Paramount is moving ahead with a sequel to last year’s Jack Reacher, with the new film based on Lee Child’s most recent novel involving the character titled Never Go Back.
Paramount is currently seeking writers for the new film, as Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote and directed Jack Reacher, is busy with Mission Impossible 5. He may still direct the film though. The first film grossed $218.3 million worldwide from a budget of $60 million.
In the novel, Reacher goes back to his old Virginia military base to have dinner with a female colleague who he learns has been arrested, and soon, Reacher himself finds himself being charged with crimes himself. Once again, he needs to learn the truth the way that only Jack Reacher knows how, which often means violence.
