Katherine Heigl Speaks Out About ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Schedule

Katherine Heigl spoke out recently about the filming schedule for ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ The actress called the schedule “cruel and mean” due to the fact it calls for the cast to work long hours.

“Our first day back was Wednesday and I’m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them, it was a 17-hour day, which I think is cruel and mean,” she said.

“It was actually kind of great to be back. All my friends are there and at this point, they’re sort of like family but it was a little weird because [T.R. Knight is] not there anymore.”

Izzy Stephens, Heigl’s character on the show, ended last season by flat-lining and then meeting up with George, T.R. Knight’s character, in the an in between world. However, Heigl will be returning and will remain a series regular on the show despite previous rumors that the writers were trying to write her out of the show.

Heigl just finished shooting “Five Killers” in Atlanta, GA along with Ashton Kutcher.

  1. How many episodes are in a regular season now versus back in the ’70s? I think there are half as many, and I’m sure those actors worked just as long each day, but for twice as many weeks. She should be happy she’s got a regular acting gig making a lot more money than the people who watch her show. I’ll trade places with her any day.
