Geek Cooking: Star Wars Galactic Baking Cookbook (Exclusive Recipe!)

Star Wars Baking: Podrace Puffs

My geek cooking adventures have continued! This time with the upcoming release from Insight Editions, Star Wars: Galactic Baking: The Official Cookbook of Sweet and Savory Treats From Tatooine, Hoth, and Beyond!

There’s no better way to celebrate Star Wars at home than by making one of these super tasty recipes to celebrate the fandom (while having one of the films or (The Mandalorian) playing in the background)! There’s such a great variety of dishes here that you truly feel like you’re touring the galaxy – from the snowdrifts of Hoth, the wastelands of Tatooine, and beyond. Whether you’re throwing a watch party or hosting members of the Galactic Senate, this cookbook is a must-have for all fans (and all ages).

There are over 30 awesomely geeky recipes, including Mustafarian Molten Lava Cakes (which I have exclusively for you all below!), Cloud City Marshmallows, Life Day Cake, Loth-Cat Kibble, Keshian Spice Bread, Dagobah Bog Pie, and so many more. From easy and quick recipes to ones that are a little more complex, there’s something here for all baking skillsets (from Padawans to Jedi Masters in the kitchen), and the recipes are based on elements from the entire Star Wars timeline, from the Skywalker Saga, and beyond!

The first recipe I tried from the book was the Podrace Puffs, which are basically like homemade bagel bites. Prep and cook time totaled about 30 minutes altogether. The result? So freaking good!!

In celebration of this cookbook’s upcoming release, I made another Instagram Reel! It only took me half the amount of time of the Deadpool Reel, so I was pretty pleased with myself…

Drumroll, please…

Geek Baking Reel

I have to say, I’m starting to really like making these IG Geek Cooking Reels!

If you’ve read some of my other geek cooking pieces, you know that this adventure into the kitchen is pretty new for me. So if I can successfully make these dishes, I assure you that you can as well – whatever cooking level may be.

Overall, I’m pretty excited about this Star Wars cookbook. I’ve thoroughly marked it up with Post-It Notes for all the other recipes I want to try (looking at you, you adorable BB-8 cupcakes). And I have to say, being able to transport yourself to planets such as Kashyyyk, Jakku, Endor, Bespin, Coruscant, and everywhere in between – just by taking a trip into the kitchen… It’s pretty rad you guys.
