The 4 Little Components to a Successful Twitch Channel

Twitch

Having a Twitch channel is a great way to get yourself out there, and grow an online gaming community that can help you build a brand, and while everybody set up these days there are so many important things to remember especially when considering the many mistakes newcomers make. Let’s show you some important things to consider.

Remember to Make Yourself Accessible

You could find yourself buried in the stockpile of gamers out there, but is this to do with the fact that you’re not marketing yourself properly? You may want to start small and just get yourself used to work with an audience, but after a while you want people to instantly access your live feeds, and the best way to do this is to go through the typical marketing channels, such as promoting yourself on social media, etc, but also think about the less obvious approaches. You can use a QR code to share Twitch profiles but this is also a great way to have people access you quickly, especially if you are considering holding some form of a live event. Which channel is a very intimate experience of course but you need to think about the many different ways that you can market yourself.

Have High-Quality Tech

People watch live streams for the commentary, not the gameplay, so make sure that your mic is of good quality. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just make sure that your voice is clear and it doesn’t have a lot of static. For yourself, make sure you wear a headset so you don’t get any feedback from speakers. You should also think about having a good internet connection. It doesn’t have to be super fast, but it has to be good enough to broadcast your video at 720p or over. You should also make sure that your webcam can record at least at 720p and if you do not have a good quality webcam, you are doing yourself a disservice. Streamers that use webcams tend to do better than those that do not have anything like this.

Stream Something That People Like to Watch (but Don’t Stream Themselves)

If you want to make yourself appealing you’ve got to choose again that people don’t stream. Rather than going for the old potboilers like Minecraft, you’ve got to find something that people like to watch but don’t stream on a regular basis. When you go to the list of games on Twitch, you can skip over the first few dozen. If there are 30 people streaming on one specific game, try something else. The idea is to appear on the front page of this game, and by choosing a game that is not as popular, you are playing the odds.

Interact With the Viewers

It’s so easy to get caught up in the game but remember that you are there to interact with people. And just remember to speak to them as you would speak to people in person. Be courteous and polite, and while there will be people who try to argue or attempt to annoy you, just remove them. Remember that streams can go good, but they could go bad. Not every stream will be fun, but if you want to start a successful channel, always remember the little things.
