We are getting ready for The Boys Season 3, and the new casting announcements are helping! We’ve just learned that Walking Dead star Laurie Holden will be joining the Amazon Prime series for the upcoming season!
If you followed AMC’s The Walking Dead, then you’ll remember Laurie Holden’s work on the series as Andrea Harrison. While the character had a longer story arc in Robert Kirkman’s comics, Andrea’s life of the series was cut short when producers killed the character off in Season 3.
She also starred as Marita Covarrubias in The X-Files from 1996 until 2002 as well as in The Shield as Agent Olivia Murray in 2008.
But enough with backstory! Holden is now joining The Boys Season 3 as Crimson Countess, and we have sneak peek for you below!
Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess
The Crimson Countess sports all red. Not surprising considering the character’s name. From her mask to wig to boots – her outfit is a stunning deep red. Anyone else getting Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff vibes? (Different universe we know, but humor us.)
The character photo was released with the caption: “Payback’s a b*tch.”
Holden is one of many new cast members joining The Boys Season 3 on Amazon. In fact, Season 3 has a pretty impressive cast full of names we’re excited about, including Jensen Ackles, Nick Wechsler, Kristin Booth, Sean Patrick Flanery, and more!
The Boys Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Amazon Prime. Season 3 doesn’t yet have a release date, as production just wrapped in September 2021. And with that timing, we’re hoping for a Spring or Summer 2022 premiere date.
We do know that the first episode of the new season will be called “Payback.” The news was confirmed by a tweet from Eric Kripke. So, we think it’s fair speculation that we’ll potentially bee seeing Crimson Countess in that first episode.
