Synopsis

From visionary filmmaker Lana Wachowski comes “The Matrix Resurrections,” the long-awaited fourth film in the groundbreaking franchise that redefined a genre. The new film reunites original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in the iconic roles they made famous, Neo and Trinity.

The film also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (the “Aquaman” franchise) Jessica Henwick (TV’s “Iron Fist,” “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens”), Jonathan Groff (“Hamilton,” TV’s “Mindhunter”), Neil Patrick Harris (“Gone Girl”), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (TV’s “Quantico,”), Christina Ricci (TV’s “Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story,” “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles”), Telma Hopkins (TV’s “Dead to Me,”), Eréndira Ibarra (series “Sense8,” “Ingobernable”), Toby Onwumere (TV’s “Empire”), Max Riemelt (series “Sense8”), Brian J. Smith (series “Sense8,” “Treadstone”), and Jada Pinkett Smith (“Angel Has Fallen,” TV’s “Gotham”).

Lana Wachowski directed from a screenplay by Wachowski & David Mitchell & Aleksander Hemon, based on characters created by The Wachowskis. The film was produced by Grant Hill, James McTeigue and Lana Wachowski. The executive producers were Garrett Grant, Terry Needham, Michael Salven, Jesse Ehrman and Bruce Berman.

Wachowski’s creative team behind the scenes included “Sense8” collaborators: directors of photography Daniele Massaccesi and John Toll, production designers Hugh Bateup and Peter Walpole, editor Joseph Jett Sally, costume designer Lindsay Pugh, visual effects supervisor Dan Glass, and composers Johnny Klimek and Tom Tykwer.

  1. I was absolutely obsessed with these movies growing up. Even dressed like Trinity at one point. So much pleather. Lol. So looking forward to seeing this!!!

  2. Would LOVE to be able to go as the Matrix was an iconic and essential part of my childhood! Excited to see what new things are to come in this installment!

  3. Unreal GINORMOUS fan of the franchise- the original films are ICONIC. Going back to replay #ENTERTHEMATRIX- it’s a whole game/film of clues into RESURRECTIONS. #IAmTheOne(of ten) #PickMeThankYou

  4. I want to see this film because the Matrix series is an excellent example of a great societal filter, a maturity screen keeping us from expanding beyond our sole planet. The possibility of AI and our excessive reliance on technology destroying our sense of what’s real to distract our collective human advancement is something I try to fight every day in my capacity within the tech industry.

  5. Oh man! I would absolutely love to see this! Matrix was fundamental to me as a kid and a reason why I got into programming! I can still remember going to whatisthematrix.com as one of the first websites I went to!

  6. I would really LOVE to see the Matrix Resurrections! I’ve seen the previous three movies when I was younger. This will be like a 20 year reunion/homecoming! I am a huge fan of Keanu Reeves as well! Please pick me to see NEO (The ONE)

  7. Never seen any of the Matrix films and honestly just have no desire. They get a lot of love, though, I must say!

  8. Hello again Emma (& Fanbolt)!
The original matrix revolutionized the way i see cinema since the day I saw it. The concept of what’s real and what’s not, the mindblowing Cinematography, the martial arts, the philosophy, etc. It all played a part in the writer and filmmaker I want to become, so I was ecstatic to hear about a continuation of the story! I’d be honored to see this film from a creative perspective and most of all, and lifetime fan. Whichever way your choice goes, thank you for the opportunity!

  9. Waited in that crazy digital queue for 2 days but secured my first 2 Matrix NFT’s on launch day! No way I can miss this now. Especially since I remember seeing the first one in theater!

  10. This was the movie that solidified one of my closest friendships as we were both super engulfed in our love for Sci-Fi at the time; after finals finish tomorrow, we’ll be rewatching and tuning in for this new addition!

  11. Best movie franchise ever and my favorite film series. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve watched the entire series day after day with the same excitement and enthusiasm as the first time.

  12. I would love to see this movie because it’s a classic and nostalgic. I know if my parents and I were in the same country, we would watch it together.

  13. I took the RED pill and immersed myself in the first 3 movies – it would be a BLESSING to continue the trip with the 4th movie.
The Matrix must be destroyed! FREE HUMANITY! 😇😇😇
