But before that, we have to tell you about a series you really should be watching, Father Brown! The show focuses on Father Brown, a priest that uses his keen observations and insight to solve mysteries around his small town. And the mysteries are not in short supply!

Father Brown starts Season 9 on the 17th and all the previous seasons are already there to get you caught up!

January 1, 2021: Vera Seasons 1, 2 & 6

Vera is a nearly retired employee of the fictional ‘Northumberland & City Police’, who is obsessive about her work and driven by her own demons. She plods along in a constantly disheveled state, but has a calculating mind and, despite her irascible personality, she cares deeply about her work and colleagues. She often proves her superior skills by picking up small errors in her team members’ thought processes.

January 1, 2021: Mrs. Brown’s Boys New Year Special 2022

This New Year is all about reconciliation and fresh starts in the Brown household, but not everyone seems to have got the message. Grandad’s brother Mickey is fresh out of prison and decides to stop by for a visit. Everyone except Grandad is suspicious when he shows up asking for 5,000 euros to invest in a South African gold mine. Winnie, inspired by Cathy’s book, is on a daredevil mission to change the trajectory of her life, while Mrs. Brown’s boys are forced to have a heart to heart.

January 9, 2021: Vera Season 11

DCI Vera Stanhope (Brenda Blethyn Kate & Koji, Secrets & Lies) returns, leading her diligent team of detectives as they investigate complex and murderous crimes.

January 14, 2021: 24 Hours in Police Custody Season 9

Using fixed rig and handheld cameras with unique access to both detectives and suspects, viewers will be captivated by close-up detail of interrogations as each case is pieced together. Combining the drama of cops and robbers in the real world with the humanity and humor of 24 Hours In A&E, watch police work against the clock to put criminals behind bars.

January 17, 2021: Doctors 2022

This long-running hit on BBC One follows the turbulent lives and loves of the staff and patients at a busy medical practice. The series continues to dominate its daytime slot across the pond with engrossing storylines and a high-caliber cast. Serious explorations of medical conditions, passionate personal stories and some outrageous humor combine to create a unique, innovative and uplifting drama. A hotbed of future stars, Doctors has given early breaks to talent including Eddie Redmayne (Les Misérables, The Theory of Everything), Claire Foy (The Crown, Upstairs Downstairs) and Jodie Whittaker ( Doctor Who, Broadchurch).

January 18, 2021: Father Brown Season 9

Everyone’s favorite priest returns to solve more charming countryside mysteries. The year is 1953, and the sleepy Costwold village of Kembleford is stirred by such dastardly deeds as murder at the local holiday camp and at Lady Felicia’s illustrious New Year Masked Ball. Between a race against time to unmask a mystery attacker and a killer in his midst, could this be the last waltz for Father Brown?

January 21, 2021: 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Season 19

This comedic panel show is the perfect hybrid of Channel 4’s topical hit 8 Out of 10 Cats and the cerebral word s-and-number game Countdown as the anarchic comedians of the former take on the brainbox format of the latter. Hosted by Jimmy Carr, with team captains late comedy legend Sean Lock and Jon Richardson, the show features Rachel Riley and Susie Dent on math and dictionary duty respectively.

January 31, 2021: Hope Street

Hope Street is set in the fictional town of Port Devine on the Northern Ireland coast and will focus on Port Devine’s police department and the mysterious arrival of English Detective Constable Leila Hussain, the first Muslim police officer in the town’s history. The cast features established and distinguished character actors including Brid Brennan (Brooklyn) as Concepta, Des McAleer (The Crown) as Barry, Ciaran McMenamin (Primeval) as Finn and Amara Karan (The Night of) as Leila. From acclaimed producers Paul Marquess (London Kills) and Donna Wiffen (The Bill), the series combines a long-running serial narrative with self-contained crime stories in each episode.
