‘Outlander’ Star Sam Heughan Talks Working with an Intimacy Coach, Fan Art, and More!

Sam Heughan

Sam Heughan stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show to talk about Outlander, fan art, and his upcoming movie, It’s All Coming Back To Me.

The American Idol alum started the interview by talking about their shared enthusiasm for Scotland. Kelly then revealed that she herself is a big fan of Outlander, crediting her mom for getting her into the show years ago.

Then the conversation shifted towards the fact that intimacy coaches are now a thing for a lot of series, including Outlander.

Intimacy Coaches on Outlander

“It’s absolutely helpful,” Heughan reveals. “I introduced our coach to the production. And honestly, we were quite naive and young when we first started.”

“We were kind of dropped in the deep end, you know. We had to sort of work it out for ourselves. Now we have someone who’s there to help advise, to help guide us and not just ourselves, but the younger members of the cast as well.” Heughan continues. “It takes you as the actor out of the equation and makes it easier to just get into this. Because it can be quite awkward for not only the actors but the crew who have to stand there and watch you guys for hours.”

When Clarkson asked Heughan if he’s received any art from fans of the series, he

“I’ve received all kinds of things from a duvet with my face all over it, ” Heughan smiled, joking about he sleeps with it at night. To little dolls of us to crochet pictures, it’s very creative, very creative.”

Heughan went on to reveal his mother is actually an artist, but the family gene didn’t pass down to him.

Sam Heughan’s Upcoming Film with Celine Dion

While we’re still not sure when Outlander Season 7 will drop, it sounds like we’ll have some Sam Heughan on the big screen in early 2023! He’s set to star in a film with Celine Dion called, It’s All Coming Back to Me.

“I think it’s her first time acting in a movie, and she’s so good,” Heughan says, raving about working with Celine Dion. “She’s really funny. She plays herself, but she’s really good.”

Clarkson went on to tease Heughan, asking if he sang for Dion.

“There may be a little something in there.” Heughan said with hesitation, implying he will be singing in the upcoming film.

Well, at least if we’re in another doughtlander, we can look forward to hearing Heughan sing on the big screen!

Heughan also told Clarkson if he had the opportunity to time-travel, he’d head to the future, specifically space. Overall, it was a great interview! We just wished Clarkson would have asked him what he could share about Outlander Season 7, which we know is currently in production in Scotland.

  1. What I think is missing from Jamie and his daughters relationship is the physical father daughter relationship that you see today. I would like it if she kissed him good morning or kissed him good night especially because he didn’t have that while she was growing up. Appropriate physical affection between father and daughter is missing.
