Facing all original competition, including the hyper-hyped “FlashForward” debut, The CW’s new hit series THE VAMPIRE DIARIES held its ground, and held 100% of its audience last week among women 18-34 (2.6/8), adults 18-34 (1.8/6), women 18-49 (2.3/6), teens (2.3/9) and total viewers (3.8mil), according to Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009. In fact, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES improved over last week among adults 18-49 (1.7/5).

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES easily won the 8:00-9:00p.m. hour with female teens (3.1/13) and teens (2.3/9).

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is also delivering solid year-to-year time period growth (versus an original SMALLVILLE), improving 6% in adults 18-34, 73% in women 18-34, +44% in women 18-49, +138% in female teens and +44% in teens.

Now in its 5th season, SUPERNATURAL has seen its ratings grow over last season by 36% with women 18-34 (1.5/4), 9% in adults 18-34 (1.2/3) and 17% in women 18-49 (1.4/3).
