Kevin Feige Would “Love” to Find A Place for Ryan Gosling in the MCU

Ryan Gosling

We’ve got no shortage of Ryan Gosling on our screen, and we’re not complaining. From the recently released (and most expensive) Netflix film The Gray Man to the upcoming Barbie movie (where he’ll play Ken), Gosling’s career is thriving. But you know, there’s one place we haven’t seen him. And that’s in the MCU.

One member of the press highlighted this very fact at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, putting Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige on the spot with the news that the La La Land actor would love to play Ghost Rider in a future Marvel film.

“Hey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider…” Feige teased.

“Gosling’s unbelievable. Ryan is amazing… I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU. He’s dressed up as Ken on Venice Beach and gets more press than giant movies coming out that weekend. It’s amazing.” Feige continues to say in an MTV interview.

Ghost Rider was turned into a film back in 2007 with Nicolas Cage in the lead role. It also started Eva Mendes, Gosling’s partner. And a sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance followed five years later.

Has Ryan Gosling Already Joined the MCU?

Gosling, 41, is rumored to have been courted by the MCU already – but to play a different character, that of Nova.  Some outlets are already confirming the casting news. However, no official statements have been made.

Though, it would make sense in the bigger picture with more Guardians of the Galaxy coming… we could totally see Nova coming on the scene. Even though the character fell out of use for a number of decades in the comics, he was recently revived in the comics. Not to mention, he frequently gets paired up with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

“I don’t know anything about Nova, if that’s what you’re going to ask me,” Gosling says to MTV’s Josh Horowitz while promoting The Gray Man.

When quizzed on how many comic book roles he’s turned down, Gosling replies: “It doesn’t matter. It wasn’t right for it. But I would love to do it.”

It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see Ryan Gosling end up in the MCU. But I not so secretly would prefer to see him as Nova, which in my geek book, is a much cooler character than Ghost Rider. What do you think? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below!
