Early Life

Demi Gene Guynes, who we all know as Demi Moore, was born on November 11, 1962, in Roswell, New Mexico. Moore’s biological father’s name is Charles Harmon, Sr., who left her mother Virginia King just two months into their marriage.

Her mother was only 18 years old at the time and pregnant with Moore. When Moore was 3 months old, her mother married Dan Guynes, who Moore recognizes as her father.

Because of the irregularity of Guynes’ employment, the family moved around a lot. When Moore was 15 years old, they settled in West Hollywood, California, where she attended Fairfax High School.

It was during this time that Moore experienced significant trauma. She was raped by their landlord, Val Dumas (born as Basil Doumas), who said he paid Moore’s mother so he can get to Moore. Soon after these traumatic events, Moore dropped out of school and moved out of the house.

Moore has spoken openly about these events, her troubled childhood, as well as her later relationships in Inside Out: A Memoir, which she published in 2019.

Modeling Career

Moore signed with Elite Modeling Agency in the 80s. Inspired by Nastassja Kinski, a 17-year-old German actress who was her neighbor at the time, Moore signed up for acting classes as well. Soon, Moore would met her future first husband, musician Freddy Moore. The pair met at a Los Angeles nightclub, where he was performing.

Soon after meeting, the couple moved into together, and married shortly after. Moore would co-write three songs with Freddy Moore for which she continues to receive royalty checks to this day.

In 1981, Moore was featured on the cover of Oui, an adult magazine, where she posed in the nude. She was only 16 years old at the time but told the management that she was 18. Moore only agreed to the cover picture but some other shots made their way into publication as well.

Recent Work

Moore’s popularity seemed to wane a little bit during the turn of the millennium. Part of the reason was because she took a break from acting as she focused on raising her three daughters.

She did make a comeback by 2006 when she started doing movies again, starting with Bobby, which won awards for best cast. She also starred in the thrillers Half Light with Hans Matheson, Mr. Brooks with Kevin Costner, and Flawless with Michael Caine.

More recently, Moore has appeared in the films songbird, Please Baby Please, and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Personal Life

Since she was young, Moore had always had to fend for herself. Her biological father was absent, her stepfather was abusive, and her mother had multiple problems with the law, so she really had no other choice. In 1981, she married Freddy Moore and took on his last name. The couple got divorced in 1985.

Two years later, Moore would marry actor Bruce Willis. Throughout their 13-year marriage, the couple had three daughters, who are all successful in their careers. Rumer Willis is now an actress and singer. Scout LaRue is also a singer who had just released her first single. And Tallulah Belle the youngest is the owner of a clothing line.

Moore and Willis separated in 1998 and finalized their divorce in 2000. Moore received a $90 million divorce settlement in the form of cash and real estate. Despite the separation, however, the two continued to co-parent their daughters quite well.

In 2005, Moore got married for the third time, this time to actor Ashton Kutcher, who is 15 years younger. The marriage lasted six years until they separated in 2011 and eventually divorced in 2013. Currently, Moore is said to be dating chef Daniel Humm.

  1. You listed Demi is in a movie with Ray Liotta next… and forgot to mention he passed a month or two back. Unless The Substance was already filmed… I’d wager it might not happen the same.

    1. According to Variety – it’s unclear if The Substance finished filming or how much filming was completed. Looper reports that he was working on the film when he passed. So if that was true, I’m not sure how the production will handle his role in the film. He could have filmed enough that they’re still able to make things work.
