In 1990, Roberts played the iconic lead role in the romantic comedy Pretty Woman. Opposite Richard Gere, Roberts gave a memorable performance that earned her another Academy Award nomination and another Golden Globe win, this time in the category of Best Actress. The movie was a smash hit and set a new record in the United States, earning over $463 million. While the film was wildly successful at the box office, it’s reported that Roberts salary for the film was only $300,000.

All throughout the 90s, Julia Roberts’ net worth continued to increase as she became one of the highest-paid actresses at the time. 2000 Onwards

Roberts continued to make amazingly successful movies after the turn of the millennium. She began with Erin Brockovich who depicted the story of a real-life environmental activist. The real Erin Brockovich actually had a small role in the film.

The movie turned out to be a huge success, making more than $256 million at the international box office. Roberts got one of the biggest paychecks ever at the time, receiving $20 million for the movie. She also secured the much sought-after Best Actress award at the Oscars that year.

Roberts saw almost continual success with the films that followed, including Ocean’s Eleven, where she played the role of Tess Ocean. Along with George Clooney and Brad Pitt, Roberts’ agreed to take a pay cut to give the movie a bigger budget. This was one of the few times that her salary was less than $20 million. However, she still took home $10 million for her role. She would later reprise her role in the sequel Ocean’s Twelve.

In 2003, she received a salary of $25 million for her role in Mona Lisa Smile. This was followed by Charlie Wilson’s War, Valentine’s Day, Eat Pray Love, Money Monster, and Wonder.
