Bob’s Burgers: The 10 Funniest Moments

Bob's Burgers

Bob’s Burgers thrives where other animated comedies fail. Instead of relying on the “I hate my wife” jokes of the 80s and 90s, it’s about a family that genuinely loves each other. While the kids are zany, they have colorful personalities that make the show feel authentic.

And Bob and Linda have a relationship that’s both realistic and loving. Fans watch them doing their best to keep their business afloat and keep the kids on the straight and narrow. But audiences also see them constantly affirming their love for each other.

At the end of the day, Bob’s Burgers is a hilarious show that makes fans smile because it’s funny and strangely wholesome. Although it’s impossible to pick only 10, here are some of the funniest moments from the animated show.

The 10 Funniest Moments of Bob’s Burgers

10. Imagining What It Would Be Like Without the Belchers

In Bob’s Burgers Season 6 premiere, the Belchers wonder what would have happened if Bob didn’t have a mustache when Linda and Bob met.

Linda says Bob’s mustache was what got her attention, leading to her breaking off her engagement with Hugo. Gene believed that Bob would have ended up as Robo Stache. Lousie believed Bob would have wished himself a mustache, ultimately turning him into a hairy Freak Show worker.

And when Tina thinks too hard about it, she imagines an alternate world where Linda marries Hugo. They’re all horrified by the possibility, but when they figure out how to restore Bob’s mustache hair loss, all’s right with the world.

9. Nat Driving the Limousine and Cheering Up Tina

As always, Tina gets her heart broken by Jimmy Junior on Valentine’s Day. Linda and Bob got each other Kissing Coupons for the big day, but Linda can’t let Tina stay sad.

So instead of a romantic evening together, Bob uses his Kissing Coupon with Gene and Linda uses hers with Tina and Louise. Bob and Gene end up doing couples’ high-ropes acrobatics lessons. Tina, Lousie, and Linda meet Nat Kinkle, a lesbian limo driver.

Nat is determined to cheer Tina up, even if it involves a plan to stinkbomb Jimmy’s date.

8. Bob Getting Glued to the Toilet

The Belcher family – particularly the kids – are infamous for their prank wars. During one prank war, Bob has to deal with the consequences in a big way.

The kids are “gooping” each other, which involves putting some gross substance on something and getting the other to touch it. Louise finds a jar filled with something sticky and covers the toilet seat with it. She intended Gene to be the target. But he doesn’t go to the bathroom at his regular time because he’s on a cheese cleanse, “physically and spiritually.”

So Bob uses the toilet to prepare for a celebrity chef interview and gets stuck. What Lousie found was Teddy’s Sticky Spackle, a super glue of Teddy’s creation.

Bob is then stuck to the toilet and remains stuck until the celebrity photographer and interviewer arrive. The episode features the song Bad Stuff Happens in the Bathroom, which is a Bob’s Burgers classic.

7. Upskirt Kurt’s Attempted Seduction of Linda

Like all long-term couples, Linda and Bob get into a date night rut. Bob likes going to a safe, uninspired restaurant, but Linda wants to shake it up. She decides they’re going to do flying lessons, but Bob refuses to go.

Ever the independent woman, Linda decides to go herself. Only later do they discover that she’s booked a lesson with Upskirt Kurt. He’s well-known around town as a flirt that tries to seduce bored housewives by faking a crash landing on “Quickie-Kissit” island. When Kurt tries to seduce Linda, it absolutely does not work.

It ends with Linda announcing “you are not cleared for landing” and headbutting Kurt. Bob’s Burgers always gets the best cameos, and Kurt is no exception. Will Forte voices Kurt, and it’s incredible.

6. Rudy on the Booze Train

Regular-sized Rudy is one of the best side characters in Bob’s Burgers. He doesn’t try to be, but he’s absolutely hilarious.

We meet him in the episode where the kids go to the museum on a school trip. But we really get to know him when the kids get stuck in the children’s room on the booze train.

Kids aren’t outright banned, but are highly undesired on a local wine train experience. So the Belcher kids are shuffled to the back of the train to the juice caboose and can’t enjoy the coveted chocolate fountain.

Of course, they set in motion a heist to access the chocolate at the front of the train. Whenever Rudy gets pulled along on one of their misdeeds, he always struggles to keep up. Whether it’s his anxiety or his asthma, the rebellious Belcher kids are always a bit too much for him to handle.

5. Bob Interacting with the Deli Guy

We of course had to include a Thanksgiving episode on this list. So Turkey in a Can symbolizes Thanksgiving’s importance in the top 10 funniest moments. It’s an important holiday to the Belcher family.

Well, it’s important to Bob at least. Bob absolutely loves cooking Thanksgiving dinner. When the kids tell him he should marry Thanksgiving, he says he happily would if he could.

One Thanksgiving, someone keeps putting the turkey in the toilet. This ruins his multi-day brine, and he has to keep going back to buy a new turkey. The deli guy thinks that this is Bob’s way of hitting on him, and eventually tries to leave work to run away with Bob.

The creators of Bob’s Burgers have not-so-subtly queer-coded Bob as bisexual, making this moment even better.

4. Louise’s Crush in Boyz 4 Now

Louise likes to distance herself from all things labeled “girly.” This includes Tina’s obsession with boy-band Boyz 4 Now.

But when she has to go with Tina to a concert, she instantly falls in love with “Boo Boo.” He’s the youngest member, but has the best hair and dance moves (according to Tina). Instead of wanting to kiss him, she wants to slap him. They sneak onto a tour bus to get close.

At the end of the episode, Louise asks Tina how she handles having crushes all the time. That’s when Tina says she’s just like everyone else, because “I’m no hero. I put on my bra one boob at a time.”

3. The Work Hard or Dying Trying Girl Final Number

Everything about the Bob’s Burgers Season 5 Premiere is flawless. First of all, it’s a musical episode, and those never fail to please.

Second, the premise is incredible. Because Miss LaBonz simply can’t watch the school put on Grease again, the school asks the kids to submit their ideas for a fall show. Gene knows this is the perfect time to unveil his passion project: Die Hard the Musical

However, his rival/sometimes girlfriend Courtney steals his idea for an 80s movie musical and auditions with Working Girl.

To protest her show getting picked, Louise comes up with the idea for a guerrilla-style show in the boiler room at the same time. When Mr. Frond realizes what’s happening, he wants to cancel both musicals mid-performance.

In an effort to show teamwork, they put together a crossover musical and perform Work Hard or Dying Trying, Girl. It’s a masterpiece.

2. Tina’s “Everything Is Okay” Face

This Bob’s Burgers moment is also in the Tina-Rannosaurous Wrecks episode. Tina struggles with the guilt of lying after the accident.

When she and the family cater an event at the insurance agent’s house, she starts to lose her cool. Bob tells her to show him her “everything’s okay face.”

Her expressions alone are hilarious, and then you get Bob telling Tina to stand near the grill to make her sweat look natural.

1. Tina Wrecking the Car

The opening to the episode Tina-Rannosaurous Wrecks will never not make me laugh out loud. It’s the starter episode I always pick when showing Bob’s Burgers to someone for the first time.

When going out on an errand with her dad, Bob offers to let Tina drive. Everything about this scene is perfect. From the way she says, “Let’s make this kitty purr.” To the fact that she hits the only car in the parking lot at .5 miles an hour. And how Bob gets excited by how many ply the napkins are. It’s just an incredible scene that features the best of Bob and Tina.
