DVD Review: One Tree Hill: Season 3

Senior year. A time to grow up, to forget, to forgive, to dream, to learn to love all over again. People come together — except Dan, consumed by anger as he tracks down whoever started the fire that almost took his life. Tree Hill is rocked by powerful new events — the good, the bad and the catastrophic. The good: Haley fights to save her marriage, Peyton comes to terms with her birth mother, Brooke creates a hot clothing line, and Keith comes home. The bad: Dan gets a rival for worst person in Tree Hill — a conniving redhead named Rachel, the new girl at school. The catastrophic: Tragedy strikes Tree Hill High, and suddenly who wins the cheerleading tournament or basketball championship seems insignificant compared to who lives. And who doesn’t.

The hit teen drama show, “One Tree Hill,” is back for its third season. Two brothers that share the same father and was raised differently, still tells the story. As the years go by, the two brothers unite with a bond and a relationship. During the past years are filled with drama, love, marriages, lies, secrets, betrayal, and twists in every turn. The third season fills all of that, including even more! The third season was the most anticipating season of them all.

It’s senior year. Ready to graduate and go to college. Right? This season is full of questions, answers, and drama. As we had left off, Dan is trapped in a fire at the dealership as this season, he tracks down who did this to him and he ends up getting revenge. Also, Haley comes back to Nathan as she tries to save her marriage. Then, someone tells Peyton that she is her real mother as Peyton strives to let someone in and get the facts that she is really her birth mother. As we get answers to our questions, someone new comes to town, Rachel. She’s here to shake up Tree Hill and makes even more drama than it already has. Get ready for season three of One Tree Hill…

As we get through the season, we might see some new people and some familiar faces. Rachel, a red-headed girl that has her secrets come into the Tree Hill High’s lives. She starts mostly all of the drama this season, which makes it even more juicy! She joins the gang of the Tree Hill Ravens cheerleaders with her rival, Brooke Davis. If you hear a rival between two girls, you can possible only think of cat fights, right? That’s right! She also starts off a so-called “fake age relationship” with Nathan’s Uncle Cooper, as he comes back to Tree Hill. As Rachel cause problems in Tree Hill, not only is she the one causing problems. Dan tries to figure out who tried to kill him in the fire and he’ll just do anything to figure out who and he’ll do anything for revenge. Dan runs for Tree Hill mayor as he controls the town and the basketball scores. That’s what he thinks he controls. But, as it came to the day of the Tree Hill school shootings, he gets scared of the past and regrets for what he has done. As mentioned, the school shooting at Tree Hill High changed everyone’s lives. That one day, that one time, that one place… Everyone’s lives have changed ever since.

The years gone by as we see the lives of Lucas, Nathan, Peyton, Haley, and Brooke. Now, we get to go inside their lives even deeper. Lucas ends up having a heart condition, which makes him lose the love of the game and his greatest passion, basketball. Also, Lucas fights for Brooke’s heart as Lucas confesses that he loves Brooke. This year, Brooke comes back to Tree Hill from California and then tries starting off with her lifetime goal. To start off fashion designing. So she did. Brooke started off with her own clothing line, “Clothes Over Bros,” inspired by her legendary quote, “Hoes Over Bros.” Then Haley fights for Nathan as she tries to get her love for Nathan back as he deals from what she has done. But, they of course loved each other more than ever and decided to renew their vows in front of their friends and family this time. But, as their day of their wedding, something tragically happens that can change things in a whole different turn. Haley also joins the Tree Hill Ravens cheerleading squad with Brooke and Peyton. Peyton also deals with someone new coming into her life, her real birth mother. She deals with the lies that had been told by her father and tries to understand the fact that she’s really adopted. As she deals with the pain and the lies, she finally accepts to get close with her real birth mother, but then something happened to her mother tragically that changed her life forever. At the end, Brooke and Peyton’s friendship is jeopardized as Lucas is right dead middle between both of them. Drama, lies, love, despair, deaths, murders, secrets, rivals, deceit, and tragedies. What more can you ask for?

This season was my favorite of them all. Not only does it have drama, secrets, and all the things imaginable to shake up a place, but it even gives death and murder. It might sound appealing and might think this is one of those other fake teen dramas. But, this, this is whole different story. Even though it sometimes might not make it realistic, but here, it’s realistic all right. This is the only TV teen drama show that is actually real or can be based upon. The storylines of this season will make you go to the edge of your seat. Every episode was like a season finale, which is very appealing, right? This season was like no other. God, the drama here this season was crazy, which is greatly awesome. It isn’t like the other two seasons. This season had something special that made it, well… Special! Mark Schwahn, the creator and executive produce of “One Tree Hill,” made this season the best of them all. Mark is like the God of teen drama. I bow down for him for this season. If you compare One Tree Hill to a different teen drama, again, it’s like no other. Mark made this for the teen lives, but more drama than you expected it. This season changed my whole opinion on the show and I thank Mark for it. The cast always does an amazing job every season. Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Sophia Bush, Paul Johansson, Barbara Alyn Woods, Lee Norris, Barry Corbin, Craig Sheefer, and Moira Kelly makes their performances of a lifetime. A performance to remember. The greatest actors and actresses in TV teen dramas now! Every other cast members not mentioned also did performances that will never be forgotton. Season three is too good!

Believe me on this one, there’s more storylines that I mentioned here. If you want to hear or see more of the drama, you have to see season three. It’ll change your whole perspective on teen dramas. This is a season that you will never forget. You should also check out the new season of One Tree Hill Wednesdays at 9/8 central only on The CW! If you want to check out the other seasons, make sure you pick up a copy of seasons one and two on DVD in stores now!

Review #2
One Tree Hill, season three, was anything but boring. With Haley returning, standing on Nathan’s doorstep, Dan surviving the fire at the dealership, and a shooting at Tree Hill High, One Tree Hill has done it again. Season 3 of One Tree Hill was packed with drama, intensity, and pain. With the death of Keith and the reawakening of Nathan and Haley’s relationship, One Tree Hill has brought back the reason why many people fell in love with this show and it also brought a whole new variety of viewers. Not only did Tyler Hilton, who plays Chris Keller, come back; but he also stirred up more problems for Nathan and Haley’s marriage.

In season 3, One Tree Hill also introduced a new character, Rachel. Rachel, a feisty, energetic, go-getting teenage girl, definitely did not start her school year off on the right tracks. She had her eyes set on a certain someone, Lucas Scott, which started some drama with Brooke. Also coming back onto One Tree Hill this season was Cooper. Yes, I know Hot Uncle Cooper was back this season and was staying for a while. Uncle Cooper was eye candy to Rachel, and she instantly liked him, but he didn’t know that Rachel was underage; leading to even more drama. With the new faces and more appearances by some of the cast from the beginning, the third season of One Tree Hill has brought back some major drama and unknown problems occurring.

While Peyton was dealing with the death of her biological mother, she also told Brooke that she still has feelings for Lucas. Brooke and Peyton’s friendship was coming to an end. Although Peyton told Brooke that she was sorry, and that she would do anything to have her back as a friend, Brooke gave her the cold shoulder. Many long-time viewers of One Tree Hill were in shock; Brooke and Peyton have been friends for years, and to sacrifice a friendship over a guy, was no way to end it.

As the end of season 3 came near, Nathan and Haley had their wedding. But for Nathan and Haley, after the wedding, was anything but great. The season 3 finale of One Tree Hill was very suspenseful and mind-altering. We found out that not one, but two of the ladies in one tree hill are pregnant. The main tragedy of the season finale is when Rachel and Cooper got into a car accident and drove the car over a bridge and was submerged under water. Nathan and Haley, after the wedding, were driving and came upon the accident, and Nathan jumped in to try to save them. The end of the season finale left us with multiple cliffhangers. Like, who’s pregnant, will Peyton and Brooke mend their friendship, and who will survive the car crash?
