‘Wednesday’ Trailer Shows Promising Jenna Ortega Performance

Wednesday

Netflix is debuting the teaser trailer for Wednesday, on none other than a Wednesday! The new series from Tim Burton will premiere on the streaming platform this fall.

The series was originally announced in 2020 as an unnamed Addams Family project. It will tell a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.

There she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

The trailer shows us our first look at Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams (not counting the photos Netflix has released). And Ortega couldn’t be more perfectly cast. Take a look at the Wednesday teaser trailer below.

Netflix’s Wednesday Teaser Trailer

The trailer almost has a Chilling Adventures of Sabrina-vibe to it, doesn’t it?

The cast of the series includes Jessy Schram as Wednesday Addams, Caterine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams, Gwendoline Christie as Principal Larissa Weems, Jamie McShane as Sheriff Galpin, and Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe. Also starting is Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Naomi J Ogawa as Yoko Tanaka, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, and Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott.

And last but certainly not least, Christina Ricci, who portrayed Wednesday in 1991’s The Addams Family and its sequel Addams Family Values, as Marilyn Thornhill.

Wednesday will be directed and produced by Tim Burton alongside showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar. And while there isn’t an exact release date yet for the series, fans won’t have to wait long. The trailer confirms it will debut on Netflix this fall.
